The current status of American culture approximates one of my favorite quotes from Federalist 57:
“… the genius of the whole system; the nature of just and constitutional laws; and above all, the vigilant and manly spirit which actuates the people of America—a spirit which nourishes freedom, and in return is nourished by it.
“If this spirit shall ever be so far debased as to tolerate a law not obligatory on the legislature, as well as on the people, the people will be prepared to tolerate any thing but liberty.”

The greatest threat to the American way of life is the complacency of good people in the face of evil.
There is a truism over 200 years old… “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
Where do those of us that don’t tolerate these laws draw the line, though?
Most of us are out there in one way or another trying to debate and/or promote our way out of this now century old pit. We don’t want violence, we’d very much prefer to keep our honor, and yet those still digging it have neither shame nor honor and increasingly less restraint.
I’m still hopeful that their swing to the left will actually implode the Regressive movement, but I’m not sure about trusting that the figurative white flag that may result isn’t hiding a somewhat less figurative machine gun.
I’m also not sure they’re going to implode. New York is waste deep in blood and California is neck deep in debt, and still they persist.
What can men do against such reckless hate?
We need a wizard for this.
