Get Woke, Eat Folk: Scientist Calls for Cannibalism to Combat Climate Change

Behavioral scientist Magnus Söderlund, appearing on Swedish state TV, says to combat climate and deal with the looming food scarcity we need to overcome the “conservative taboo” against eating human flesh. Even if you’re reluctant to taste your neighbor, he says you could become accustomed to cannibalism little by little.

Söderlund claims that only selfishness makes us reluctant to eat one another, but as an expert in behaviors he believes people can be “tricked” into “making the right decisions.” Is this “Get woke, eat folk” sensibility just the latest example of climate change scare tactics aimed at forcing government action?

Cannibalism doesn’t need to be taught or advocated for. Starvation will naturally cause it on its own past a certain point. Once there is no more food, any animal will eat anything, including its own species, and that includes humans. I understood that by day five of Survival, Evasion, Resistance & Escape (SERE) school in the military, when deprived of any food for 5 days, the fat guy in class was starting to look like a meal (not a good meal, but a meal…honestly, he could have fed 50 of us). You don’t know what true hunger is until you’ve experienced it. BUT…that is a condition induced by starvation. It has NOTHING to do with climate change. Nothing at all. It has to do with survival and nothing else. There is a point where human population needs to be controlled to prevent mass starvation; the same as for deer or bears or any other predator. But it’s a self-correcting process, and wars or disease or natural disasters (which could be the point of climate change) will naturally reduce it back to sustainable levels after a time. Advocating eating people is rather stupid. Cannibalism is a last-ditch survival mode. But climate change, which has far less to do with human activity than it does with solar activity, orbital mechanics and planetary tilt–which humans have NO control of–is not necessarily the “end” of humanity. The climate has always been changing; that is the natural state of life on Earth. Our perspectives are too short to realize it. We have only 6,000 years of written history, yet humanity is at least 200,000 years old, which means civilizations we have no idea of rose and fell long before the Sumerians ever created cuneiform written language, and we’re still here. We just have no record of them. We have survived countless centuries of climate change already. And global warming is actually better than global cooling if you think about it. Why? Food doesn’t grow when the Earth is an ice ball. This seems just another attempt to shock people to get attention for the social cause of “climate change,” which is unrealistic fear mongering on the part of many, and a desire for control by others (usually to get money), to change something they cannot change and to try to keep things just as they are…which is not the natural order of the universe. The only constant is change, and the Earth has always been changing. Things were far worse than now in the first 5 Ice Ages. Things were far worse environmentally in all the previous mass extinction events on Earth. But to advocate for people to try to stop the changing of the environment makes us no better than cockroaches. However, in that same vein of thinking, consider that that humans are basically bacteria that live on a floating rock hurtling through space. They can control what they eat and to some degree what they produce as pollution, but they do not control the rock. That’s reality. People need to accept the fact that they are not and never will be in control of reality.

This episode reminded me of the misattributed quote by PT Barnum, “There’s a sucker born every minute.” The obvious corollary is that “There’s a PT Barnum born every minute too!” This means there are two kinds of people in the world: players and suckers; confidence men and rubes! Division, contradiction and opposites is a self-evident truth. Up/down, in/out, dominants/submissives, good/evil – the world is filled with these opposites and much of humanity has suppressed this truth.

Wish we had the ability to have emoji rather than like/dislike. Hate to vote down a good presentation but not like the topic at the same time. Some sick minds out there!

“ . . . Introduced little by little” gives a new meaning to finger food. This so-called behavioral scientist is a bat crazy lunatic; a perfect example of ‘lets throw the most abhorrent concepts on the wall and see what sticks.’

Let’s eat, Grandma
Let’s eat Grandma

That was supposed to be a grammar and punctuation joke.

Also, as Soylent Green was just a bit before my time, so was the last “Population Bomb” scare when we thought we were going to run out of food. Now we’re *still* growing more than we need, so much so that we destroy a portion just to keep the prices above floor level.

To quote an unrelated movie, substituting “crisis” for the movie’s: They keep using that word. I do not think that word means what they think it means.

Cannibalism was socially acceptable through and including the 19th Century. It was common among shipwrecked sailors and known as “The Custom of the Sea”. Eating your fellow passenger in the lifeboat was simply “okay” SO LONG As the victim was chosen fairly, by lot. The practice wasn’t tested legally until 1884 when an unconscious seaman was killed and eaten without the benefit of “trial by lottery”. Those who partook of the unfortunate sailor were tried and found guilty of murder though their sentence was reduced to 6 months (inasmuch as the victim would have likely died and been “fare” game)

Five years into the future Headline: Planned Parenthood opens its first soup kitchen to help fight climate change, Jay Inslee to cut ribbon.

Can some one please tell the left that Soylent Green and 1984 are supposed to be WARNINGS not instruction manuals.

The movie was made in 1973 and the date in time the movie was portraying was 2022. I was in college and this movie just stopped people dead in their tracks as being so outrageous it would NEVER happen and we loved it as a horror movie. I almost pooped myself when I heard this and realized the date…… Hollywood really does shape the future. Even the most disgusting evil.

I believe it’s mentioned that the Heston character was born in 1983 and had never ever seen trees, green grass and forests .

Before progressives suggest this idea, they should remember that Progressive meat tends to be more tender and well marbled. Also progressives are less well-armed.

Something to think about as the apocalypse approaches.

Sorta related: Was watching Omega Man on TCM and in one of their interstitials, whatshisface addressed how they shot in an empty Los Angeles. How was the production able to empty out the city to get shots of Heston driving around an abandoned city?

The answer? They shot in downtown LA on weekends.

Matthias: One creature, caught. Caught in a place he cannot stir from in the dark, alone, outnumbered hundreds to one, nothing to live for but his memories, nothing to live with but his gadgets, his cars, his guns, gimmicks… and yet the whole family can’t bring him down from that, that…
Zachary: Honky paradise, brother?

Absurdity begets absurdity until things can’t get more absurd. Unfortunately we are still not a peak absurdity. We must learn to treat absurdity as if it had no connection to reality: meaning arbitrary and not even false BECAUSE it has no connection to reality and cannot be connected to reality. Until that time, absurdity will build without limit.

Let’s not forget one critical element of this story, folks. Today’s bat (guano) crazy white paper will be the lead question at the first DNC Presidential debate 20 years from now!
