Don’t forget, the current crop of politicians on both sides were educated by the same elitist, socialist educators. Also, climate change became an issue after the former KGB and other soviet officials took over the environmental movement after the fall of the Soviet Union. The late John Coleman, the founder of The Weather Channel had a lot to say about this.

That’s the most animated I’ve seen Scott ever!! That was quite enjoyable. I’m up in DC right now so maybe I’ll go over tomorrow to my senator’s office (Cronyn) and try to educate that RINO.
I should be thrilled at all of the people who pointed out that error, since it means they’re listening carefully. Alas…I’m afflicted with vanity which taints my enjoyment.
I got sent to the Group W bench w/ all the father rapers and mother stabbers. And the biggest, meanest, ugliest mother raper and father stabber looked at me ask said “What’d you do, kid?”. “We’ll, I.. Well, few politicians are leaders, fewer still leaders for good. And there’s a lot of money to grift in the name of climate change. In case you haven’t noticed, those guys like money.

People ignore the past and try to act like it never happened.
I particularly like that he went back to the 1800s to see the hysteria.
First, it was Global Cooling. Followed with Global Warming. Then Climate Change. What is it really? A political grab for power and wealth. How convenient to change the name to reap a profit. Isn’t this a familiar tactic of the left?
At least 2 Billion dollars are available for grants on “Climate Change.” Want some free money? Propose a study at Harvard titled, The Impacts of Climate Change in the Fashion Industry. It presents many of the geo-solar contributions conveniently left out of the “models” that only focus on the human impact on “Climate Change.” It also points out a few of the specifically chosen examples that make little sense, like less snow cover in the spring — DOOH!
The presentation identifies what a complex system the Earth is and how the weather systems and solar radiation (other than just heat) help maintain a global temperature equilibrium, and why the Global Mean Temperature has varied by no more than 2 degrees C, in spite of much increased CO2.
{Bill you are correct; there is not a Standard Temperature – but there is a Global Mean Temperature. Interesting that it is about 57F or 15C! Set your altimeter to “standard” climbing through the TA.}
The presentation does not suggest we should not worry, but instead focus on pollution for other than climate reasons and not the doomsday predictions of charlatans – posing as scientists. No doubt, pollution sucks, but climate science and politicians do too.
That 5 – 10 years until it’s too late and we’re all doomed con goes all the way back to the beginnings of this ridiculous pseudo-science. Some commenter on Instapundit posted a link to a Scientific American article the other day about how Exxon suppressed a global warming report they had commissioned. What was notable about it was that it included that very line, 5 -10 years and then we’re doomed. That was in 1976.
