I’m ashamed and embarrassed that it took until now to see it but the GOP is lost to us. We should have realized this a long time ago. G.W. Bush working with Ted Kennedy to expand medicare, the endless parade of feckless court appointments and the eternal wars launched without victory conditions should have been enough. But there was also the curious fact that even when we delivered the GOP a unified government our policies never seemed to get implemented. It took Obama barely a year to shove Obamacare down the nation’s throat and have it rubber stamped by a putatively conservative USSC. And yet no matter how long Republicans held all three branches the border never got secured, gun control laws never got repealed, the budget never got balanced, nothing ever got done. We were told, every time on every fight, “this isn’t the hill to die on”. And with “Cocaine” Mitch’s shameful display yesterday it seems that the very survival of our Republic is, alas, not the hill to die on.
With a handful of noteworthy, honorable exceptions our elected Republicans are always going to prioritize their cocktail party invites and insider cash over the good of the nation. So as I see it we have two choices politically:
- We can abandon the GOP and watch the Democrats enact everything they want or
- We can continue to support the GOP and watch the Democrats get everything they want, albeit at a slightly slower pace.
Either choice is going to be painful as we watch the Democrats destroy the economy and do everything they can to trample our rights. But at least with the former choice we don’t have to reward disgusting traitors like McConnell, Collins and Romney.
I think the answer in the long run has to be, if he’s willing to do it, a new party with Trump at its head. A party that is willing to actually represent and fight on behalf of the people who vote for it and contribute to it. A party made up of people who aren’t waiting for an opportunity to stab other members in the back in exchange for a few kind words from the NY Times. A party that will not tolerate a McCain, a Romney, a Collins or a McConnel.
Will it take a generation for such a party to gain any real electoral traction? Probably. All the more reason to start now. Because this current game of “heads they win, tails we lose” is no longer tolerable. The GOP as it is currently constituted needs to be left to rot. Not one more dollar for their coffers, not one more for their seats. Make them be the junior Democrats they already act like.

See, this is where I’m absolutely stuck because of this same realization.
I live in Georgia, and I don’t know what to do about this run-off. We’re still being forced to use the same rigged voting machines. We’re being asked to pick Republicans who actually dragged their feet about denouncing this travesty of an election. Their efforts to convince me that they care about election fraud sound extremely half-hearted. They didn’t appear at the Stop the Steal Rally. They didn’t get around to supporting the people until WEEKS after the election.
And yet, I’m being pressed to believe that if I don’t go vote, I’m giving the Senate to the Left.
Except… Am I? Is there any real fundamental difference between establishment Republicans (Loeffler and Perdue) and Democrats at this point? They both want the same thing: power over the people. The only difference between them seems to be the method in which they go about achieving it: Democrats using more active measures; Republicans using more passive measures.
They’re all part of the same organism, though.
So, I’m left with the question: “Is there any functional purpose in voting this time if the result will end up the same?”
Sure, we might get the Senate, but if we don’t get the presidency, the establishment GOP is going to collectively sit on their thumbs while saying “Well, gee, we sure did try to stop them. But you know those darn Democrats… There was nothing to be done about it.”
I couldn’t have said it any better, the republican party is comprised almost entirely of traitors and cowards. Same for the supreme court, I now have zero faith in anything that they say they’re going to do, it’s all about staying in power and getting rich while we work 50-60 hours a week and have nothing to show for it. Trump came in the nick of time, and he turned our country back in the right direction and didn’t care what the media said. He made AMERICA FIRST, which everyone else in DC either forgot or ignored, and got stabbed in the back for 4+ years. Now the fucking democrats are going to get away with election fraud and put a 78 year old senile and corrupt loser in office, along with a nutbag career slut that will destroy this country if she gets the chance. All of those dirtbags in DC can rot in their own filth while we work to get OUR country back. TRUMP 2024.
