Lock-Down End Game? We Should Have Made Them Tell Us at the Start

When government officials started issuing stay at home orders, we voluntarily complied with the lock-down. Now that the curve flattens in most areas, we know we should have made them tell us the end game at the start.

My entire family and I were all willing to “do our part” when we were asked by Trump to help slow the spread. We refuse to submit when it is now a command from on high. We’ve been done since the numbers started coming down and will not comply with orders from the Nazi demoncraps.

100% agree with you, Bill. I get angrier every day and I AM DONE! It’s bad enough they don’t know what they’re doing (or do, and it’s pure malice), they took advantage of our good will and cooperation. People willing to take advantage of the good in people deserve to mistrusted for eternity. I don’t think there’s any getting trust back after that.

Bill, you keep praising Texas, but as my friend the Fluffy Goat points out below, Texas has not done a great job here. Texas is in some sort of “Phase 1” as defined by the Governor and/or the President, but that didn’t begin until after the Governor had consulted his own commission of 50 people to examine the problem for TEN DAYS and then get back to him for recommendations. Texas should have led the nation by re-opening in early April. Meanwhile in Texas we’re having salon owners arrested, SWAT teams breaking up protests, etc. The Governor’s response has in every case been tentative and late.

I was a supporter of the Governor before this. But over time he has demonstrated an unwillingness to lead with decisive action to uphold his avowed principles. He’s left that to the Lieutenant Governor and the Attorney General.

And BTW it was the South Dakota governor who followed the “inform but not decree” model, stating she “preferred informing the public so they could decide for themselves whether to follow recommendations or not,” and they are getting “back to normal.”

On a slightly different note, Scott, let me recommend to you (and all other Texans) the site Empower Texans. They’re all about fiscal responsibility and taxpayer relief. Their daily update emails are one of the few I look at regularly. (It is the only trustworthy source of Texas Legislature political news that I have found anywhere.) During the lockdown, they included data at the bottom of each email showing, for example, from April 30th:

The infuriating thing about the “deaths in Vietnam” is that at that exact same time, during the Vietnam war, more people died from a flu outbreak than did in Vietnam.

re:Thalidomide… when my mom had Multiple Myeloma and the chemo wasn’t working, she was given Thalidomide… but she had to sign a waiver that she wouldn’t get pregnant… which wasn’t an issue for her… my dad had gone 4 years earlier and she was 82…

Here’s another question: how many of them didn’t get it early enough (or at all) because of (a) governors’ illegal orders, (b) absurd FDA “clarifications,” (c) deceptive media reports, (d) studies unethically designed to demonstrate “failure,” or (e) over-reliance by medical practitioners on “double-blind placebo controlled studies” as opposed to clinically-based experience?

Scott – while I agree that there was no one in government, particularly Governors, snickering and saying “finally, a pandemic, now I can implement my plans”. I do believe that those who already possessed a totalitarian bent have enjoyed the taste of this authority. Govs such as my loathsome Northram and Whitmer, Cuomo, Oregon’s and Colorado’s are somewhat drunk with power.
Their discourse has changed to phrases such as we will allow, when I decide, etc.
And it does flow to the local level. That salon owner in Dallas got jail time, and the judges big hangup appeared that she wouldn’t apologize for ignoring the authorities. That she put her judgment above the officials of the state. I keep hoping that Gov Abbott steps in with some type of pardon, though I am not sure that he has that authority.
This is the fear I have that many in positions of potential authority will keep issuing edicts and many of our citizens will just blindly follow saying well he/she is the gov.
I was glad to see video of Californians “storming the beaches”. Though the scene in Texas (really) of a police SWAT van breaking up a protest was disheartening.

Perfectly stated! My feelings Exactly! That scene in TX was Sickening!

Within 24-hours of us recording the Shelley Luther episode, the governor and lt. governor both called for her release, and the Texas Supreme court ordered her release. She is free.

Oh they had the answers alright! To hell with us poges. They could care less. And pretty soon the country is gonna be completely broke or under complete communist china control since they own all our debt! Take your $1200 and like it peasants!

Another thing that causes me heartburn about all of this is the term “essential services”. As everyone seems to agree, the initial actions seemed appropriate. Then someone in government decided there are essential services and non-essential services and essential services were determined by someone in charge, no discussion.
If I was a person who had a small business I had put my life into and I was depending on it to 1. Pay for itself (rent, supplies, loan, whatever) and 2. Support my family (pay mortgage, feed everybody, maintain car, whatever) for someone to call my business (and by extension my family) unessential would seem pretty arbitrary and probably anger me. Especially when I see state governments and related agencies continuing to pay everybody as if nothing is happening. People are going to get desperate if this is not figured out pretty quickly.

Another observation is I am noticing is the discussion of “Rights” that has been going for decades has gone from 1st world (males have the right to use females bathrooms, college kids right to safe spaces, etc) to 3rd world (people have the right to use the public beach, people have the right to go outdoors without a mask, people have the right to work, etc)

It should be clear by now, the end game is totalitarian control of society by those who aren’t fit to control a hen house. They can’t tell the difference between a fox and a chicken.

Our constitution is no longer operative. Law is what they say when they say it because they say it. We meekly submit to the lies, distortions, misrepresentations, and the-sky-is-falling myths based upon nothing but their say so.

The data? What data? The experts have been wildly wrong in their predictions. They treat computer output as data. Blank out that the computers were programmed to produce outputs without reference to any reality whatsoever.

There was not enough reality behind their projections for them to be false. It is the climate change scam writ large and we the people bought it hook, line, and sinker.

The experts don’t know a damn thing but where their next paycheck comes from. Thus they give the political system cover for their lies and distortions. When you have stopped the engine of the economy, nothing can be produced to purchase with that paycheck. No wealth will be produced to stand behind the next pay check. After that, total destruction! Which was their goal from the get go.
