Who can know the type of people who come into your life, from unknown ways, and make lasting impressions?
I made a friend like that. Just a gentleman who took some time out of his day to listen to me and my tiny troubles. He taught me that there are some men who have a high standard, and they hold themselves to that standard. And, I could count on him to never have lowered that standard, he was that sort of man.
We exchanged thoughts, we had fun playing games, once in a while a wisdom would flow from one of us to another. He was always kind. To everyone in our group. And he was popular, because he was someone you could look up to. He had courage and strength. But not that you necessarily noticed. It was always a background for him.
He laughed and he played hard. And when we took lumps, he helped us all get back into the game to take more lumps, with smiles.
I am going to miss my friend very much. He helped strengthen my faith. He encouraged me to speak my mind. And he helped me do one of my favorite things, giggle, laugh, enjoy what life has to offer if you are willing to reach out and take it.
This is Holy Week, and I feel some how, that he is going to enjoy his first Easter Sunday with a newly Risen Spirit.
Godspeed dear friend.

Amen.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” – 1 Peter 1:3
I shall recite that verse at church on Easter Sunday.
I am sorry for your loss, Lisa. Your life sounds like it is much richer for having your friend in it. (heart emoji placeholder).
