With regard to assisted suicide.
I believe this is an individual choice.
A choice that can only be made by the individual in question.
Those that are in pain and/or terminally ill should be able to seek a humane method of ending their life.
Not saying those that are mentally ill should immediately be permitted to. Those that have no quality of life and being kept alive simply for the sake of being alive should have the choice.
People with the where-with-all to follow through on their self-destructive behavior is outside the scope of what I am discussing here.
I am only referring to people that have no quality of life and the chances of returning to a normal life are non-existent. These people can put their affairs in order and make sure that their death will not be a burden on their family or others.
I believe in the right to live. I also believe in the right to die with dignity

Could you clarify under what circumstances you would permit assisted suicide? This is a topic where I’m a little torn. On one hand, I would not want to force a terminally ill patient to endure an agonizing death, but on the other hand, I believe there is a religious argument against suicide.
You are an image bearer of God. You do not own your own life, it and everything you have was given to you by God, and you have no right to throw it away. You must be a good steward of the life that you were given, and suicide is spitting in your Creator’s face. The whole reason murder is wrong is because you are choosing to end a life that God has authority over, which includes deciding when to end it. Suicide is wrong for the same reason. Obviously, I know that God still has control even when people die of murder, but the attempt to choose on the part of the murderer is still there.
From a Christian and Catholic standpoint you are absolutely correct. However; this nation is based on liberty. The circumstance I am referring to would be those that are paralyzed. (spinal injury perhaps) where they have no motor function and are in constant pain; and drugs do little to help the matter. To be clear, I am not speaking of people in a coma, or not able to be rational.
People have been suicidal since there have been people.
But in this topic, I am specifically addressing those people that for whatever reason, cannot manage to end their own life.
