yeah, “misinformation” is newspeak for “truth”. And tyrants must quash the truth for their survival, we know that much from history. Also that it tends to prevail, but it takes time and strong people.

Yeah, good article there. Though IMO wastes too many words on the CCP before getting to the last few paragraphs.
While I have no doubt plenty of propaganda went around, IMO the key players like the famous blue governors, also leaders in Canada or AU did not need any nudge to start their totalitarian edicts. They just did it because they are awful people. And because they got away with it.
Also CCP might reach some americans, but 100 or 1000 times as many were influenced by the domestic media with all the scare-porn. Motivated by just their rotten souls and opportunity to ruin Trump, not CCP nudging. And in 100 other countries similar forces fueled the flame.
Also, people in the “modern” world used the last several decades to spoil the next generation(s) and ensure majority is incapable of independent thinking. Creating a tinderbox, that can start wildfire from any random spark. And the latter we can’t blame on china at all (beyond manufactoring all the mind-killing gadgets that accelerated the process.)
You could be right. Regardless, we are being crushed by what Steve Deace characterizes as “Horrible people doing horrible things, horribly.” Spoiled I get; cyclically, the world was ever thus. I’d take lack of independent thinking any day over the contempt for individual rights and liberty that has been so diligently cultivated and now yields us such a poisonous harvest.
