I just saw Stratosphere Lounge 307 where Bill put forth the idea of just paying reparations. It’s not the first time he has mentioned this idea so I have had time to think about it.
I have concluded that reparations are not a good idea for TWO important reasons.
First, Bill made a calculation error. Suppose you give 1 million dollars to every black individual who can prove that they were descendants of slaves in the United States. Rounding up, that’s 50 million people. How much is 1 million dollars multiplied by 50 million? It’s 50 TRILLION dollars. That’s ten times the number of the insane Bill Back Broke bill. It’s just too much, even if you lower it to 200k per individual, that’s still 10 trillion dollars.
Second, slavery is only ONE of the grievances of the radical crowd. Then there is Jim Crow, and don’t forget “the system of white supremacy.” In other words, the reparations that they will demand is for the dismantling of the United States at its roots. It will never be enough.
By offering reparations, Bill’s idea is to expose their madness, but think about it this way: the radical left is shamelessly pushing the idea that gender doesn’t exist. The left is batshit crazy at the moment and no-one is stopping them. 10 years ago, maybe people would have felt a sense of shame of behaving like mad idiots, but today they have been emboldened to extremes.

You are absolutely correct – paying reparations for any grievance will never be enough – the people who are insistent that grievance regardless of merit should be compensated have no interest or skin in that game – they are power mad envious looters who delight in the prospect of taking from the makers and giving to the moochers.
