Watch the video of Angela Marsden, owner of Pineapple Hill Saloon & Grill, in Sherman Oaks, California, as she decries the hypocrisy of lockdown rules that shut down her outdoor dining, while NBC puts up a catering tent just yards away. Meanwhile, government officials proclaim a clamp-down on restaurants, and then celebrate at a dinner out with 22 of their closest friends. If you’re Mayor Eric Garcetti or Gov. Gavin Newsom — or you cozy up to a top Democratic politician — apparently you don’t have to “follow the science” or obey the rules they impose on others.

At the David Horowitz website, the banner headline reads: INSIDE EVERY PROGRESSIVE IS A TOTALITARIAN SCREAMING TO GET. I would substitute Progressive for Democratic Socialist and then include the Gaggle known as The NEW Democratic Socialist (OXYMORON) with ever GREATER emphasis on MORON is now most definitely ventured into the IDIOT category and completely jumped over Neurotic into a deep state of Psychosis Party. The Party has finally lost their handle on SANITY. The Party of INSANITY is even becoming MORE INSANE in word and deed is the Party of INSANITY, ANTI-Americanism and FRAUD.
According to the Electoral mCollege the harris-biden Team will occupy the Oval Office for 4 years. Translation: through FRAUD, nIrregularities, Anomalies and Statistical Analysis a supposed 80 million, YES 80 MILLION Americans? voted fo0r harris-biden? HOW? exactly wasd that possible? He did not campaign. He drew tiny crowds of people to listen to the constant gibberish layered with LIE upon LIE. biden spent nearly a half Century in Public Office and I defy anyone to name 2 accomplishments of significant value. He became a multi-MILLIONAIRE, HOW? The Evidence is continuing to mount that the biden Family is a Crime Family selling out America for gold coins. Finally, joie biden is the Godfather of the Crime Family. YET, with all the Evidence, he “won” an Election where President Trump received OVDER 10 MILLION more votes than in 2016.
The VISION of the Founders and Framers based on an IDEAL where the Individual, Family and GOD were the foundation to what would become the GREATEST, most EXCEPTIONAL and UNIQUE Nation EVER created by Mankind for Mankind.
In all HONESTY, the party of INSANITY, ANTI-Americanism and FRAUD have totally turned their Collectivist backs on What Ben Franklin responded to when he was asked, “WHAT? type of Country do we have, a MONARCHY or a Republic?” He replied, “A Republic if we fight for it?”
The Party of INSANITY, mANTI-Americanism and FRAUD have chosen the roadmap followed by the French Revolution and not the American Revolution.
In Real Time we are witnessing what the French Revolution looks like and the Democratic Socialist (OXYMORON) is just getting started.
Bill, you are spot on! Everyone celebrated when the Berlin Wall fell (my mom was there!), but the euphoria did not last long. The East Berliners had no understanding of merit, and that to get the Mercedes or move out of their cramped quarters meant doing a job well enough to earn raises & promotions. Meanwhile, West Berliners were getting fed up with the easterners’ seeming inability or outright refusal to accept the responsibilities that come with freedom. On one visit shortly after, I noticed tourist shop wares with the slogan “We Want Our Wall Back”. Freedom takes effort.
Cut through ALL the BS and non-sensical rhetoric and what you get I will contend is !) the Democratic Socialist (OXYMORON) and THE Party of INSANITY, ANTI-Americanism and FRAUD 2) a complicit FakeNEWS who happens to be co-joined at the hip of THE Party of INSANITY, ANTI-Americanism and FRAUD 3) THE LIE over and over again
PA’s Dem Governor just issued a new edict (with his buddy the state Secretary of Health Richard/Rachel/Whatever Levine) shutting down indoor dining from tomorrow through the New Year. Democrats really do hate small businesses. This will kill even more restaurants. Oh and Levine moved his/ her/its elderly mother out of an elder care living facility early in the coron-apocalypse so she wouldn’t get infected die. But the nursing home elderly relatives of the peons? Too bad.
Gavin Newsom’s recall will be on the ballot as we’ve met the minimum 800,000 signatures. They are in the process of verifying signatures as I write this. Secondly, the small business owners need to get mad enough to open completely and then sue the state government for losses due to their inane and unconstitutional orders (I firmly believe eminent domain applies here). Protesting does nothing as it’s falling on deaf ears. Lastly, I’m thankful to live in Riverside County. I love my Sheriff!

While this is surely a positive step, I fully expect that the next person will be just as authoritarian but will just come from some held down minority group (or two or three). Would an actual Liberty-minded person have any reasonable chance to win as CA Gov?
I’ll admit that our track record isn’t a great one, but when we recalled Davis, that’s when Schwarzenegger got in (on a Republican ticket). So there’s always a glimmer of hope there. I’m sure John Cox will run as he ran against him this past election, and was a driving force for the recall. We can only vote and hope that he wins. Stranger things have happened and we have Trump for proof of that.
This is the reason that we ought to learn to withhold taxes from the government as a society. In what other way is there an immediate repercussion for tyranny? We want peace in our nation but are arrested by force for singing Christian hymns in the street, raided for running restaurants, targeted for opening gyms. Meanwhile, the political class lives in luxury and privilege. What else can be done?
You’re absolutely correct. The only peaceful solution is to keep singing and serving food. Unfortunately, the situations in many parts of the country are so out of control that a peaceful solution is likely not possible.
The bozo’s can go stuff themselves.
It’s too late to build the gate when the bull is charging.
Other means.
Bill, we already have some pretty clear indications that election fraud was rampant this year in the Presidential election. But, it surely impacted some downstream results as well. Further, many of our big cities have been hotbeds of voter fraud for decades. Might we be seeing just how powerful a force it is in the 2020 election with some of these … scum … retaining their jobs after their insane dictatorial dictates?
My new neighbor at the bottom of our mountain in Montana just moved here from California to retire. The first thing he did was run a Trump flag up his flagpole and put an American flag at the entrance. When will you be able to cut the cord and join him, Bill?
Governor Jolson today announced new restrictions here in the commonwealth of VA due to an increase in cases. Not deaths and hospitalizations, positive tests. He actually stated that he is all for individual freedom but that comes with responsibilty. But since they can’t guarantee people will act responsibly, they HAVE to act.
What a crock. The revolt is coming in VA
I keep looking for the boogaloo. 😉
Scott spoke about disbelief as to the situation in California, which I believe he was speaking about how people continue to vote for their poison. I am reminded of one of my favorite mini-series “War and Remembrance” from 1989. When Dr. Jastrow and his niece Natalie were being transported to the East (Auschwitz) from Theresienstadt, one of the elder Jews told the elder Jastrow to get on the car with the prominent train where the Nazi’s were at. He told Jastrow that they were going to be the leadership at the “new” camp.
That’s how I some up the mindset of millions of Americans today. They’re in a state of disbelief and they believe that all will be fine after January 20th, 2021. Unfortunately they fail to see the wanton destruction before us and many of them voted for.
This is not a game and there is NO reset button.
I live in California.I’m about to GO OUT to a small organic store right now. Wish me luck!! I have antibodies and never where a mask. If I get arrested, I’ll let you know.
When they arrest you, make sure you ask to see the LAW you have broken.
Well, I didn’t get arrested or bothered by anyone. But your suggestion is a very good one. I’ll remember that for another time if there is one.
Excuse my ignorance, but what law am I breaking. My constitutional rights?
Oh, I like the politeness part. Likely the word Ordinance comes up.
The law broken – or fines imposed – will be threatened, not to you, but to the businesses you patronize. That’s why they have the mask mandate for their individual stores.
But, once inside the store, at least in my area, you can ‘wear’ your mask anyway you want w/o pressure to comply by store associates, who probably (just guessing, from hearing Scott’s comments) hate wearing them just as much or more as you/we.
I’ve worn my mask below my nose, over 1 ear, on my chin… the most I get are funny looks. Not comments…
But then, I live in a very red county, in a small town, where I highly doubt the sheriff and/or police will impose any fines/arrests. A law needs to be upheld by law officials making arrests for breaking the law.
This ain’t no law!
I was a deputy sheriff in Orange County, CA for several years and a police officer in an Orange Co. city for more. Orange Co. was about the reddest county in CA. But in the 2018 midterms, the Dems took every congressional seat, that could be nothing but voting fraud. You don’t go from 2 seats to all 6 in that country one election.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2018/11/voter-fraud-orange-county-numbers-dont-add-up-democrats-had-300000-more-votes-for-congressional-seats-than-for-governor/
We must get a handle on the fraud going on in our election system. Praying to God that SCOTUS takes Texas’ case.
I am in Tennessee now, so feeling pretty safe, but you in CA have to rid yourselves of Governor Nuisance!
Maybe I’m just feeling extra grumpy today, but can I just say, as much as I enjoy Steve and his perspective, I HATE HATE HATE the phrase “click on over.” I think I’m going to have to start pausing the video before it reaches the end when he does the wrap-up. (Sorry, Steve! I love you, I really do!)
Why?
I have no idea. I’m allowed to be irrational occasionally, surely?
Yup. As we all are from time to time. However, it seems that there is someone who disagrees given the thumbs down.
That’s okay. I don’t need no steenkin social proof. 🙂
We’re all feeling extra ‘grumpy’ these days…
Like Steve, I visited California when I was a kid. We had relatives that lived in San Pedro, an unincorporated suburb of Los Angeles on the Harbor Strip. San Pedro was nice back then, it was basically a bedroom community for the Port of Los Angeles. When visiting we always went to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Marineland and Ports o’ Call.
It was a lot of fun and for a farm kid from Minnesota it all seemed very exotic. My cousins used to make fun of my white socks though they hardly ever saw them as they were covered up by a pair of Tony Llama or similar grade cowboy boot. The idea of boot socks was completely foreign to people who live in flip-flops. The neighborhood was safe, kids could walk around alone at night and be in no danger. Kids did what kids everywhere did back then and disappeared sometime in the morning to return at suppertime and no one thought anything of it.
When I was older and could drive (I’m the oldest of the cousins) the only thing my uncle said about being careful where we went was “If you see bars on the windows leave that area, otherwise you’ll be fine.”
I joined the Marine Corps at 17 years of age and went to Boot in San Diego and then was stationed at Pendelton for a while. This was during the last years of Ronald Reagan’s term as Governor of California. Being in San Diego and Camp Pendelton made it easy to visit my family in Los Angeles. Over subsequent years my immediate family drifted to California, first my sister, then my Mom, and finally I moved there after an uncontested but painful divorce in 1993.
I could see a marked deterioration in conditions from when I was a kid by that time but it wasn’t too bad and I’m pretty resilient with a very acute sense of situational awareness so it wasn’t anything I couldn’t live with … Just stay out of places where the windows were barred …
I lived in California for 20 years. It got to the point where I absolutely hated the place. By the time I “escaped” Ports o’ Call was boarded up. You can’t even tell where Marineland used to be. The traffic on the freeways was so bad that going to any of the amusement parks was a major undertaking no longer worth the time it took to get there. There were homeless encampments everywhere. Parents no longer dared let their minor children out of their sight for fear of pedophiles, drugs and gangs. My cousin’s two sons lives were ruined by drugs/alcohol. One of the two stripped his gears sniffing inhalants and I lost track of how many times the other was in jail for various acts of stupidity.
The nice little bedroom community where I lived turned into a hell-hole of crime. Crime mapping on the internet became a thing and I once counted over 500 crimes within two miles of my home. The year before I left we had a drive-by shooting on my street and the cops refused to even investigate. I called them and they said “Was anyone hurt? No? OK, well then we’re sorry but we don’t have time to waste on an incident like that. If you hear gunfire just get down on the floor until you’re sure it’s stopped.”
There’s more but by now you get the idea. I’m telling you all of this so you will understand that I witnessed firsthand the decline of California. I’ve heard it said that “As goes California so goes the nation.” I hope that’s not true but California is a glaring example of what happens when leftist politics “succeed”. Under the guise of improving the lives of the people the lives of the people declined in quality so obviously that there’s no mistaking the results of leftist politics at all.
There was nothing to do for it but to leave. The point of no return had been reached well before I left but it took time to gather the resources to pick up and move elsewhere. I did this and convinced the remainder of my immediate family to join me. There was just no way I was going to spend whatever years remained of my life in that shithole.
And still Californians keep voting those monsters into power. They deserve what they got and are going to get.
I greatly fear that if Joe Biden is sworn in as President the entire Nation is going to go the way of California. How can it not? Worse yet, I despair over the fact that as the point of no return was reached in California so too will it soon be reached in the rest of the country.
Why does this happen? It’s pretty simple really. The villains on the left need a pseudo-villain to blame and that pseudo-villain is us. This is clearly not valid because as conservatives flee California the rapid worsening of conditions accelerates. The more politically successful the conservative the harder they work to paint him/her as a villain. This explains the vituperate, strident bashing of Donald Trump, and he’s not even a true conservative. He’s just in the way. As long as things continue to deteriorate and the left can successfully nail the blame to conservatives the worse things will get and the more they will blame conservative Americans for it. It’s a positive feedback loop that’s nearly impossible to break.
Why do I believe this?
I built, owned and operated an IT support business in California. Starting out I was my only employee. Many times I would be working at a client’s site on a problem, which I had tried to fix several times by following “the book”. When I realized that I had done the same thing multiple times expecting a different result I would just stand up, walk outside, take a break, clear my head and consider the problem. Then I’d go back inside and fix it. Donald Trump was our “break’. Joe Biden is the same as going back inside and continuing to do the same thing expecting a different result.
I seriously don’t know that we can recover successfully from four years under Joe Biden and I’m sure that if he cannot complete his term which puts Kamela Harris in the White House … We will not fix any problems at all. I fully expected the American People to reelect Donald Trump and I think they did. That he now stands a very poor chance of being sworn in as POTUS in January means that the bad guys are winning and may have already won. That means a collapse is coming. We’re still a very wealthy nation and that collapse may or may not be total but it’s not going to be good.
If Biden succeeds in his party’s cheating and we either fail to keep the Senate or the Democrats take the Senate in two years — The Democrats will pack the Supreme Court, turn a blind eye while giving a wink and a nod to any electoral cheating that benefits them, and implement their stated policies. Things will get much, much worse and that positive feedback loop gets much, much stronger. If we’re not already at the point of no return we will be by then. That is a recipe for collapse. Nations that hold our debt like China will own all our wealth for many generations to come. We will have sold our liberty.
Like an alcoholic or drug addict that has to hit rock bottom hard before he’ll admit he has a problem and takes steps to correct it, the United States of America may have to do the same. The really sad part of all this is that it didn’t have to be this way. We could have been the economic, political and military powerhouse that brought a just and lasting peace to the planet.
If you disagree with me, and I really hope you do and do so with solid reasons — I’d love to hear what you have to say. If what you have to say is based on anything less than solid then don’t bother. I’ve heard the same things you have. It remains to be seen if any of that will pan out but I’ve learned in my life to hope for the best and prepare for the worst. It appears to me very likely that the worst is upon us as a result of perfidy and guile, not as a genuine mistake by the vox populi of the United States of America. Therein lies hope. I have always had faith in the People of this Nation but those who employ electoral subterfuge are not The People. They are the enemy of The People. It’s time we admit that to ourselves and do something about it. I just don’t know what form that “something” will take if any.
Being born and raised in CA, it WAS a great place to live. We had all the amenities that the rest of the country was jealous of, the beach, mountains, theme parks,TV and movie studios, etc. I lived within the same city (burbank) for over 35 years. We left in ’94 for a number of reasons, but the 2 main reasons were crime and population, way too many people living there. We followed our parents when they retired in ’90 and moved to west. wash. We left in’94, my youngest sister in ’92, another sister in ’95 ,and finally my older sister in ’03. If you had told me as a kid that my whole family would move to wash. state as adults, I would have said you were crazy, but CA has become it’s own communist nation. We have visited friends and family still living there, and we know we made the right decision. To all of you who are stuck there and can’t leave, I have no words. The tyranny and corruption in that state cannot be left to rule those people forever, something has to change, I just wish I knew what it is.
Wow, hard to disagree with anything you wrote. I just want to add something. We boomers deserve a bunch of the blame. I swear the favorite spoiled boomer activity was figuring out how to piss off the parents. The worst spoiled boomer of all is Governor Moonbeam. Hi daddy Governor Edmund “Pat” Brown was one of the last forwards thinking pro growth Democrats. Bo find a 50s to early 60s proposed LA freeway map. There were supposed to be about double the current freeways by the mid seventies. Pat Brown built reservoirs and the California water project. Then Sonny boy Moonbeam was elected. Suddenly small is good became the catch phrase. I remember reading long editorials about how freeways encouraged growth. If we just stopped building freeways, evil growth would stop. Moonbeam spent eight years destroying his daddy’s legacy. Moonbeam is the prototypical evil boomer. After I left the remaining libtards voted moonbeam in for a second go.
I loved growing up in Socal. Beaches, mountains, good weather. good people. But at 50 I just couldn’t take it anymore. Reno is great but we are getting Californicated. I pray for Trump.
My husband and I got talked into driving to CA for the holidays to stay with my daughter and her family. We got here the day the lockdowns started. My husband and I moved to TX last year, in part to escape CA and their mindless obedience to all things Leftist. Now that we are here, I find myself doing a kind of research project, watching all my daughter’s family struggle to explain why the lockdown is necessary on the one hand, but confess to us that they’ve begun watching Fox News and find themselves strangely in agreement with what they are hearing. They still detest the President and blame him for everything, but they happily listen to Sean Hannity. It does give me hope, that against all odds they are beginning to let in the information that leads to rejection of tyranny. Quite bizarre, but hopeful nonetheless. Yes, Fox News is not what it was, but maybe they will be able to draw in Lefties like my family who somehow sense that they need to move to the Right if they want to live anything close to the American way of life.
Show ’em Newsmax!! 🙂
And hurry home!
Yup. Newsmax will make any leftist’s head explode, and who wants that on his shoes?
🙂 It was funny, they actually asked if we’d switched to Newsmax yet!
Ah, gnosticism … a philosophical (theological?) refusal to believe one’s own lying eyes. Good reference, Scott.
Ain’t seen nothing YET!!
Wait until California Assembly Bill 685 hits the fan.
Due to take effect on Jan 1, 2021.
It provides for new Cal/OSHA constraints on ALL employers with this winner ”In addition, unlike a typical enforcement action, advance notice and a waiting period are not required”.
This is in regards to Covid-19 infection prevention controls!
Check out “The Usefulness of COVID-19 Fear” at theconservativetreehouse.com
Due to be ended Jan 2023!! I sure wish I had the $$ to leave now!!
Do you think maybe all red states need to have their election results audited? Just maybe there’s been suppression of conservative voices? I can’t see how no democrats have lost their seats with all the anger going on in California and other places.
Until we can have 100% confidence in the vote, 100% of the vote needs to be audited.
HELL YES!
Stories like this give me a bad feeling that 2021 is going to make 2020 look like 2019
With you there. I think folk with the idea that things will magically start to improve when the year ticks over and the strains of Auld Lang Syne fade away are going to be bitterly dissapointed.
Yeah I’m concerned about that too. I think a lot will depend on who ends up being President. If Trump wins like he should after court battles are over I think he will be able to start pushing more for opening up and civil disobedience and we might start getting some court cases going declaring this stuff unconstitutional. If Biden steals the Presidency though it could get much worse with this tyranny being implemented at the national level. Things could get real ugly at that point.
Lived in LA for 25yrs but got out and got back to TX (sorta, I’m outside Austin) 6yrs ago. Still not missing LA. And, yes, I’ve known people who live in a Dem controlled area, had been for years-decades and they always voted a straight Dem ticket. They’ll bitch and moan and complain about some local problem and end their rant w/ “damn Rethuglicans!” I long ago stopped trying to figure out that cognitive dissonance.
Sick indeed. I think they believe that their politicians and the programs they push, would work if it wasn’t for outside forces that must be distroyed.
