Steve… I think I identified a IOWA class BB on the shelf behind you. Am I right? Since I didn’t see it on today’s RA I guess it sortied…

I watched the Veritas vid on Bit Chute and was weirded out by how nonchalant the PBS guy was when saying all those horrible things.
It’s like they’re in another reality, but having a detrimental affect on this one.
Almost like a secret assassin coward.

You can “bun the clock” all you want, Scott. This is the episode I look forward to all week. I start checking to see if it’s up at dinner time on Tuesdays and if it is I watch it while I eat my bowl of cold, thin gruel.

General Motors new logo is loved by Ford Motor Company. Suck up the yuppies and hipsters, GM, Ford will take up the slack in the truck market and thank you very much.
Next Chevy Trucks will change their motto from “Like a rock” to “Like a pebble, as long as you’re OK with pebbles.”

Not at my house since they announced they would no longer support Republican candidates. Won’t spend money on products that feel like they disrespect what I stand for.

Um … Ford has never announced they would no longer support Republican candidates. At least not to my knowledge. You must mean GM? I wasn’t aware they had done that either, I knew about them backing off support for Trump on some climate issues in Kalifornia but that’s all I’d heard about. So I’m not sure what’s not allowed at your house anymore …

All personal data goes into the same POD* as each individual. Then ALL PODs are interconnected for improved communication. It’s the beginning of what we all know as The Matrix.
* Personal Oppression Device

Ok, but … That’s not what they’re talking about in here. They’re talking about creating pods of information (hopefully block-chained) to restrict access to only the intended users and authorized eyes. Pods of information in the sole control of the owner/creator. I.E. there would be a billwhittle.com pod that only members could access. I could have thousands of pods only one of which contains my personal data and unlike the situation now, I would have full control over that and all my other pods.

I see a lot of up-sides to this and only one down-side that comes to mind right up front. That being this will foster subscription models to the point of death by a thousand cuts. Other than that, it seems like a good thing to me for the owner/creator to have full control of what they own or create. If it doesn’t end piracy over the internet it will come dang close to doing so.

I’m not sure if you don’t understand this though from what I’ve seen you say previously I’m pretty sure you do and likely at least as well as I do. Maybe you’re just being intentionally dark, or you’re just joking. But considering that people tend to latch onto the negative/dark/conspiratorial and especially so with things they themselves do not understand … What you said above is fodder for conspiracy theorists. So …

What am I missing here?

It was meant to be funny! Fer cryin’ out loud, RELAX!
That being said, if anyone thinks that these so-called PODs are unbreakable, then I have some lush ocean front property in central Arizona to sell him.
EDIT: One more thought. I don’t give a ____ what conspiracy theorist think. Like flat earthers and politically-correct social just warriors, they are fools to be either mocked or ignored.

Wow, touchy and angry much? I’m “relaxed”, I was just providing/asking for clarification of what you said because it didn’t seem to fit the facts. I’m not responsible for your sense of humor, all l can go by is what you post. I said I thought it possible you were joking and assure you now if that was clear I would have ignored your post …

It looks to me like I’m not the one who needs to “RELAX!” here.

Mocking “flat earthers and politically-correct social just warriors” (sic) and other forms of nincompoop is one of my favorite pastimes. I just choose not to feed those critters and there are more than two such in here behind the paywall. You can be as irresponsible with your words as you like, it’s still almost a free country … for the moment.

What do you think of a Bill Whittle group at locals.com? [Dave Rubin] No, I do not know how the two types of “pods” might compare.

On the plus side, if Biden starts dropping sanctions and delivering cash to Iran, that’ll do nothing but send Saudi Arabia and Israel straight into each other’s arms.

I’ve been around leftist all my life and they have always felt free to speak whatever vicious idea comes into their heads. Because it doesn’t dawn on them that anyone they interact w/ don’t think like them.

I’m fairly certain Scott would be very disappointed if I put my thoughts on what Michael Beller should have done to him.
I don’t wanna disappoint Scott.

I’m either gonna have to buy a new Challenger in the foreseeable future or keep my current one operating till the state takes away my licence. It’s a stick which are getting harder and harder to find. Also, I can ride a clutch w/o ever putting my foot on the gas. And I almost never start out in 1st gear.

Probably be like Dennis Leary’s character (?) in Demolition man and keep them underground.

I used to love Demolition Man – until it stopped being satire and started looking more and more like where we’re really headed. Good GOD it’s absolutely CREEPY how prescient that film has turned out to be!

Does your uncle have a country place?

My favorite Rush song, I was listening to it one time in the car with my kids, telling them what it was about, when I got pulled over for speeding (on a country road, no less). The kids thought it was funny that I got pulled over as Geddy left the two lane wide cops on the other side of the one lane bridge

I’m not sure what Mr. Lehrer would have to say about things these days. I loved his material as a kid and still remember a lot of it. Something in me whispers that Lehrer would be using his talents and wit as part of the liberal/Never Trump group…perhaps better that he’s no longer part of this reality in that regard.

Inclusive? INCLUSIVE?! If I’m gonna drop $120K for my brand new EV Escalade yacht, I want it to be VERY friggin EXCLUSIVE. I wanna feel like I’m one of the special people that gets to drive a GM product.

Guess you didn’t see the note about only 13 posts per day, huh? 😉
Just kidding FG, welcome back.

The killer feature of “walled gardens” such as facebook seems to me (looking from outside the wall) to be the single point of access to ‘everything’. No need to negotiate half a dozen sites to get the full picture – half a picture is good enough for most, other than dedicated news junkies. To paraphrase: In these walled gardens, you aren’t the gardener, you’re the plant.

I have a plan for how to deal with Iran. How about a nuclear strike from orbit so it couldn’t be tracked with neutron bombs and sterilize the whole country? Send them all to Allah.

I’ve wondered from time to time what it would do to the underlying faith of Muslims if some ambitious super-villain able to run his own space program (*COUGHTELONMUSKCOUGH*) were to send a spacecraft out to the asteroid belt and “nudge” a small one toward Earth – ostensibly for experimental mining purposes – and then – Oh! Oops! Bad burn and lost telemetry, and it slams right into MECCA. Oh gee, that was right in the middle of the Haj? Or dearie me.
BOOM.
Welp – I guess they’ll have to do WITHOUT that particular Pillar of Islam now. Sorry ’bout that! (Evil Grin when cameras aren’t looking)

I probably won’t explain this right, but the VPN connects your computer “to the internet” through the VPN server so it appears that is your ISP and where you are connecting from the world. This does get around geographic limits that a video host might put on and let someone in the UK watch something that is US only. It might not conceal you from data trackers if they are using some fingerprint based on your computer. The old cookie tracking that ad systems used would still work (until you wiped the cookie of course) and with IP addresses randomized most times you connect to your ISP I am not sure how much other protection you get via VPN. Will be interesting to see how Saint TBL’s new system works.

Also – there are some tools that will change the MAC address of your internet connection. It can’t change the hardware identifier burned into the chipset of your CPU. But it adds another layer of obfuscation.
VPNs and encryption are pretty much required now.
Get a Proton Mail account. They’re based in Switzerland and it’s totally free for the basic service and encrypted end to end. They also offer a VPN service of their own.
I am keeping my gmail account – but only for non-secure comms. Anything I really need to keep private is going to go through my proton mail.

thanks for the tip… I was trying to figure out how to junk my gmail and didn’t know where to turn for a private mail… I use expressVPN by the way…
