According to my dad. My great grandfather’s reaction to a flush toilet was “why would you want to do that in the house!?”

That was great fun.
The Dayton AF Museum is fun, but Udvar-Hazy outside D.C. is really great. You see the history of flight in one place.
As you enter you crest a small slope and the first thing you see if an SR-71 with a Shuttle behind it.
I have a photo but for some reason I cannot upload to this thread.

It’s been decades since I was there but the SAC museum just outside and to the west of Omaha is another great experience for anyone who likes aircraft. It’s huge and has every plane (I think) that the Army Air Corps or USAF ever flew. Plus a lot of prototypes and mockups. There are 1:1 full scale models of Fat Man and Little Boy there, or at least there were last time I visited.

I’ve never been able to get through the whole thing and see everything in a day. I highly recommend it to anyone in driving distance, or anyone driving through Omaha for points elsewhere.

If he comes to Udvar-Hazy, he better let us know! I’ll make the trip in from the Shenandoah Valley.
I have driven past the Dayton AF Museum and I have never stopped. I have wanted to, but never taken the time.

My aunt lived in Wapakoneta, OH, so I have been to the Neil Armstrong museum.

I was one of those asking about TSL. Since every so often, understandably, a show is skipped due to Bills work schedule I thought perhaps the long absence had to do with his Daily Wire work. Glad it’s back up.

As a Wisconsinite, I was glad to hear the Rodgers trade finally went through. Nothing against the guy (though he got weird these last couple seasons) but the daily updates on the news was getting really old.

.. and as others said, that was a really fun episode.

I’ve told this before, God help me, I’ve been a Jets fan since the 60s, I was on a cruise and met a Swedish guy from Stockholm with a NY Jets logo on his phone. I asked about it and he explained he and a bunch of friends are interested in American football so I asked ‘Why did you pick a team that hasn’t won in 50 years?’ Answer ‘Because we Swedes hate ourselves’

Bill, on another trip, you should to to Kalamazoo, MI, and visit the Air Zoo. It is another great airplane and air ship museum. I have been a couple of times and enjoyed it. And they have an SR-71 as well.

Oh, I’ve been there. Yeah that was a good visit though we only had a couple hours. The other one in that vein I would recommend, and is closer to Bill’s home is the Evergreen Aviation museum in I think McMinnville, Oregon. Home of the Spruce Goose, which at the time had an SW71 under one wing and some rocket, I forget which, under the other.

How I enjoyed this backstage show! My favorite part is Scott’s story of the bonding experience on the plane. I, however, being a female, would have exchanged contact info with the person, or, at least, asked their name!

I live in Indianapolis. The Air Force museum in Dayton is right at 2 hours from me. Been there at least a dozen times over my 48 years on earth and it is one of my favorite places in the US. The fact that it’s free is a bonus. My 10-year old daughter found out about it and wants to go this summer. Can’t wait!!!

It was also a fake ad on SNL for a car dubbed “Royal Deluxe II”, spoofing a Mercury Marquis ad that featured a diamond cutter.

Hey Scott? Boats and institutional toilets have “a thing like a garbage disposal” in them. It’s called a ‘macerator’, which basically means “chewer”. You’re too late, it’s already been invented.

Institutions have them because people put weird things down the toilet, boats have them because it’s a real drag to have to decouple the black water system and remove something that’s plugging it.

I’ve been to the museum 3 times. I would go again in a heartbeat. If you have time and want the best steak you’ve ever eaten go to The Pine Club. http://www.the pineclub.com. Old school supper club that hasn’t changed since the 40’s. No reservations, no credit cards. Cash, check or become a member. Wonderful!

Love this episode of Backstage! I’ve done the trek to Dayton and spent two days there and fully relate to the male trek! The trek I took to Dayton from Knoxville a few months ago with my son-in-law was 5 hours and the radio was never turned on!

I can confirm what Bill said about the questioning by customs agents. It’s learning how to read microexpressions 101. Crafted questions to elicit microexpressions that help determine if the subject is being deceptive or honest. It’s a natural fit for me, being somewhat hyper observant.

On another note…Bill, we’re not Boomers…we’re GenX’ers. Unless you’re in your 70’s…know your generations.

Except in the USA , here due to PC we strip search 80 year old nuns but scowling shifty eyed 25 year old Akmed gets a pass because low paid TSA agents don’t need the hassle.
