I’m beginning to think that if Biden wins, rather than the virus getting addressed rationally, the hysterical response will go national. Governors will be usurped and all shut-down orders will come from DC. And will be as hysterical as Witmer (sp) and as catastrophic as Cuomo.
The level of power and control that CV19 has given the government is addictive to those in authority. The Dems in DC will just work to get the populace used to the horrible new normal. Much like during the Obama Admin. Only more so.

Bill, it’s not reality that will not be denied, but a reckoning. 2Thesslonians 2:11-12 is what will happen if it never gets any better than this: “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” A shorter version of this verse is “MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.”
Just look at what God did to Israel. They have been oppressed for millennia as a result of their rebellion. The only reason they weren’t wiped off the face of the earth is because of God’s covenant with Abraham and his promise to forever preserve a remnant. Americans don’t have that promise and can face the same extinction event as the other nations recorded in scripture.

Some want to dominate and control, some are good with getting along and respecting others. We are surely in an age where those who want and demand control in this country are being given the tools to do so.

I’m glad that what just a month or two ago sounded like tinfoil hattery on my part is being spoken aloud by more fampous voices. It’s also seen in the (D) Governors doing everything in their power to keep their boot on the throat of the economy through 11/3. Now the Teachers’ Unions are joining in by demanding that schools remain virtual this year. We need to start forming some Parents’ Unions, like we’ve seen in CA, of all places!

Please tell us more about these Parent’s Unions and what it may take to establish them in other locales. This sounds like a really positive development. Any links available? How big do they need to be to be effective? 200, 800, 3000 people? How are they formed? Etc.

I kinda like “fampous.” Famous and pompous? A bit redundant, perhaps.

Wow. One of the few times I really disagree with Bill. I don’t think that the Chinese living in Communist China feel delighted by the fact that “reality will not be denied”. How much untold suffering will occur and for how long if we don’t have an active plan? I feel that at least part of the plan should be that conservatives should strongly consider physically moving to aggregate together. I feel that at least part of the plan should be that conservatives should strongly consider physically moving to centers where we can be together to strengthen our political Force as well as our physical forces. There is no major city in the United States where conservatives are dominant and we should change that to try to ensure our physical, economic, educational, and religious safety. Waiting around for the ling arc of history to aim towards the good should not be our plan, imho.

There is merit in considering such physical aggregation as part of a plan C or plan D, but things will have to be pretty seriously out of whack “kinetically” before people will want to seriously think about such severe relocating. How do you retain or transfer the wealth that you have obtained where you are now? I think the demonstrations/protests against the Michigan pandemic restrictions and some of them in Virginia and elsewhere show plenty of people can still “assemble” or “congregate” to present their grievances when needed. Only when that capability is no longer available might people consider the relocation you hypothesize. The only issue then becomes if it is “too late” by then.
Related to that, what urban area(s) might you suggest merit such assembly? Dallas, Denver, Phoenix, Tulsa, Kansas City, Columbus, OH, maybe San Diego and/or Norfolk, VA if we need coastal and/or military base access and support. Might want some level of industrial capability and university research, etc. A lot of things to consider in such a move and action.

It isn’t even worth that much except to politicians who want an excuse to print and spend without limit. THAT is exactly why his so called Economics has gained such power in the world. It has been able to be used as an excuse to spend global wealth many times over on things that only produce more government and more spending.

Back in my tour guide days on of my favorite parts was the 3rd room of the FDR Memorial where I’d explain how The New Deal actually prolonged the Depression. One time an old lady yelled at me for it, and my attepts at explaininng Bastiat’s Broken Window Theory fell on deaf ears.

People don’t like having their gods brought down to earth. Lucky she didn’t hit you with her purse.

Let’s remember that Keynes idea was to spend govt $ during the down times to “boost demand” and save up govt $ during the “good” times so there were resources available (i.e., real wealth with real value) when needed for the down times. But as smart as he was, he should have realized that no self serving politician was going to “not spend” during good times, thus reducing his ability to buy votes and polish his personal apple. Even our “conservative” and Republican party reps have shown little backbone in this regard.
A parallel question is “just how does the federal govt actually save wealth?” If the modern monetary theory (MMT) folks are correct, a sovereign govt that can create its own money supply can never “default”, but simply absorbs or releases $ from or into the economy as they believe required. Not all of MMT seems valid to me, but this idea seems realistic, especially after we went off the gold std in 1971 (but commodity based money has its own problems).
Also, if econ 101 is correct and actual economic transactions only occur when a temporary equilibrium between demand and supply is achieved at a given price point, then both demand and supply theories have a role to play. Maybe you all will too.

To have a Plan B there first must be a Plan A. If you consider lies, distortions, misdirection, riots, destruction, and death a plan, then there is a Plan A. However, reality is what it is and is not what it is not. Such a Plan A has no possible Plan B except more of the same called what it is not. This is specifically a war against reality. Such a war cannot be won.

If you think the “progressives” want to win, think again. Their goal is the consequential death and destruction that can the only result of their so called Plan. They don’t want to live at your expense. They want you to die in as painful way as possible. Their “joy” is your suffering. It is irrelevant to them that they too will die in the end. We need to figure out how they can meet their just end without ourselves becoming “collateral damage”.
