Scott Adams Says “The Republic is dead”

Scott Adams thinks that the social media companies have won the war, now that “the people” are on the side of selective censorship of social media companies. He thinks the level of influence wielded by the socials is insurmountable.

But they haven’t stopped at outright censorship, which they would have to defend at some level. They are also doing various other dirty tricks, like silently unfollowing followers from opposition figures (like Adams). He has growing evidence that Twitter is mysteriously paring his followers, and he’s been posting about it. Twitter, and others, are simply writing it off as a bug, but who would know?

I think ceding the battlefield to the enemy is the wrong move. The current back-and-forth shines an ever-brighter light on the bias that infects these social media companies. Without this resistance, would anyone know how much they are being manipulated?

I have been kicked off Twitter 3 times, have watched people silenced and harassed by FaceBook and YouTube. The USA better wake up or pay the price. A sheep will lay down in front of a wolf, and the Left has fallen asleep in the middle of a pack.

I don’t think it’s quite dead yet. I think conservatives are just slow to anger. But with the latest goings on with known censorship and demonetization, I believe most are waking up. I’m staying tuned.

I have the feeling Facebook and Twitter, at least, are on the brink of destroying themselves due to their users getting fed up with their heavy-handedness. YouTube will probably last a while longer, just because videos are so expensive to host, but still. All three have proven themselves willing to break or ignore their TOS on a whim–and people are wising up to it.

And there’s a growing awareness that social media, as it exists now, is really bad for you emotionally. Tide’s turning, I think. We’ve seen plenty of seemingly unassailable monopolies collapse within a few years or even months, and social media looks like it’s going to be the next example.

I’ve been trying to switch over to another streaming service. BitChute seems to be the goto right now. A couple of the people I follow moved over there.

BUT.

The UI over there is meh, at best. Discoverability is non-existant. And the worst part is that the normies don’t see any reason to bail on Youtube. So only the topical ranty stuff is motivated to leave YT.

Upshot is I try to leave ’em but I keep drifting back.

Bad info doesn’t mean much when everyone’s a low info voter. Is it just social media that dooms the republic or the fact that too many people consider CBS a trusted news source after Rathergate and the “scandal-free” prior administration was re-elected?
