It is still to hard for me to believe that people like Pelosi, Schumer,Schiff, and the “squad” can get re-elected. How many stupid people are there in this country? AOC is the worst kind of MORON there is, she’s also arrogant and represents our american nightmare if they actually are left in power.The corruption of the democratic(communist) party is so imbedded, we may never see any one held to account for their treachery. This election should have been a blow out, where are all the people with even a shred of common sense? How can any one vote for the kind of future that they’re proposing ? holy crap!!

I agree with you. The real, actual grammar book correct name of “that party” is the Democratic Party but I stopped calling them that long ago, I don’t give a flying rats distal alimentary exhaust orifice that doing so is not technically and grammatically correct.

There’s nothing at all democratic about the Democrat Party. They should just be glad I don’t use another word that starts with “D” to refer to them in polite company.

Wrong. When your enemy is eating his own tail, do everything possible to whet his appetite. There is no such thing as a successful passive offense.

When your enemy is engaged with infighting he is severely weakened and vulnerable. That is precisely the time to attack, the idea of “standing back and letting them blah, blah, blah” is negligent and a gross tactical and strategic error. Enemies are like bacteria (with antibiotics) and insects (with insecticide) in that the strong survive and pass on their immunity to their progeny. Thereby improving the strain. That’s a net negative.

That’s what happened to the Republican party. It’s how we ended up converting mild mannered RINOs like Mitch and Lindsey into apex predators* that would stand on their hind legs against a media headwind and seat SCOTUS picks like Kavanaugh and Coney-Barrett.

The time to go for the jugular is when it’s exposed, not when the foe has had time to fall back, regroup and reorganize.

At this point Republicans should be screaming about the dangers of a socialist, Neo-Marxist Left being in power and vigorously jumping up and down pointing out all the instances and culprits they can find. Now is the time to drive that blade home because it does several things.

It alerts people to watch for that sort of thing which creates a positive feedback loop.

It discourages that sort of thing from getting out of hand and helps contain the damage because it forces the other side to back away from their most obviously worst position(s)..

It resources our side by sapping their side. The House and Senate are zero sum games scenarios.

It does to them what they’ve been doing to us on the Right for so long. We’ve finally stumbled on something that is as politically useful as the other side’s false mantra of racism. The further the radical Left, that now has such disproportional influence in the Democrat Party goes, the more obvious and useful it becomes.

UNLIKE the lies of the Leftist Democrats about everyone opposing them being a racist — Our accusations of socialism and predictions of disaster caused by things like the Green New Deal — Are true and factually supportable. THAT is a huge advantage that should be exploited. Hard.

We need to learn a lesson from the subterfuge of the Left and use that tactic righteously and truthfully against them.

The Democrats went to the far extremes and lied by accusing Conservatives of being fascists, Nazis, racists, white supremacists etc — While they themselves plunge headlong into their own very real furthest extremes. This is a windfall advantage that needs to be driven home with the greatest possible force — Both to limit the damage they can do and to be used as a weapon against them politically.

Not everyone in the Democrat Party is a far left extremist … But a lot of the Democrats have been in deep denial about the political suicide pact that their bargain with the Devil really is. They have been seduced by the press and the power that pact with the far Left has brought them short term and they’re willfully ignoring where that is going to lead them as they follow the natural progression they themselves have initiated..

IF you want to do what’s best for America and not just to satisfy an arrogant, bilious, apoplectic nature by gorging on revenge until the carcass is stripped clean, THEN you want what Bill said — to force the Democrat party back towards center.

A centrist Democrat Party is good for America. Sometimes the Democrats are going to be in power, there’s just no way around that. The idea of “crushing them and hearing the lamentations of their women” is a belligerent’s wet dream not something that is likely to happen. In fact, pursuing such a course is likely to have Conservatives being the ones crushed and cause irreparable damage to the United States.

It’s better for America to have a John Kennedy in power than it is to have a Josef Stalin calling the shots. With a John Kennedy there’s always the hope of reversing any damage with the next election. With a Josef Stalin there’s naught but fiats, purges and hollow sham elections. Politics is by nature always the choice of the lesser of two evils. The soundest strategy is to make sure that the worst choice of those potential evils is something you can live with until you can change it.

(*That’s a humorous exaggeration to make a point not an actual fact.)

There is one point I disagree with in your essay:

Actually, from a strategic perspective, there is no better way to make your enemy unite and turn together than to show them a common foe.
The thing to do in these circumstances is to send in the sappers, and agents provocateur. Sow dissent inside, and keep their attention on the internal conflict, while providing gentle nudges to ‘help’ it along. If you attack, you run the risk of a united front forming against you.
This is the tactic that the Leftists used to weaken us (U.S.). It is the tactic we need to employ to turn the tide back. You actually state that, yourself, later in the essay.
I believe we also need to focus on the portion of the Democrat party that is concerned by the direction the party is headed, and help them wrest control from the radical extremists who are steering them towards full Communist.
It will take dedication, strong will and a major change in attitude from the members of the Right/ Republican party. Away from “go along to get along” and to “We’re right, and you’re not going to bully us on this. It doesn’t matter what names you call us, We won’t back down.”
Time and results will prove us right. we just need to be strong in our convictions.

… and “sending in sapper and agents provocateur” isn’t a form of attack? I think you agree with me more than is obvious. You ought to take what I said in context of the primary point in quotes. Which is “sit back, let them tear themselves apart and enjoy the show”. That is absurd and does not work at all. I didn’t suggest any specific tactic to be used in the attack except to do whatever needed to be done to make it obvious what is happening, where that’s leading and who is responsible.

There’s plenty of room for prudent finesse in there.

… and I agree completely with you that providing a common foe is the best way to unite an enemy. The Left has provided that for themselves by making anyone who does not agree with their agenda falsely out to be a fascist, Nazi, racist or white supremacist. While absurd doing this supplied them with an oversimplified and false common foe — Allowing them to concentrate their efforts against Conservatism while sucking the Democrat party into the whole scam.

This was made possible because on the Conservative side we do have such people and some of them are even in here commenting all unawares. All the Leftist extreme had to do was highlight that kind of thing and use the media’s bully pulpit to drive the idea home.

This is why one comment or activity that can be spun as a negative gets so much airplay. I.E. Kyle Rittenhouse, whom I believe to be guilty of nothing beyond self defense, was headlined in the mass media as a crazed white supremacist going around shooting innocent protestors with his nasty ol’ black rifle — When hundreds of others were killed, maimed and/or denied their livelihood by Leftist rioters. If we were actually keeping score then one Kyle Rittenhouse is worth thousands of Leftist rioters. This is an idea that gives me some hope and comfort.

People, even in here, who advocate things like “a fight to the death” and “revoke the rights of all the opposition, their rights are forfeit due to them trying to deny us our own rights” are not looking at this in a sane, normal American-Way sort of view. They are as bad, and as wrong, as the opposition. That’s not using the tactics of the adversary against them in a righteous and truthful manner as you and I are maintaining, it’s becoming the enemy and exactly how someone like Adolph Hitler came to power.

If we end up with a Conservative tyrant that’s just as bad as a Leftist tyrant. There are good and selfish reasons why we need to do things the right way, the American Way, and not just stack up the bodies of our opponents.

I do want to take a second to thank you for actually reading what I said and responding to the whole of it rather than just cherry pick out a point that you felt supplied you with a “gotcha” to show everyone how smart you are. That’s a common tactic even here on BW and I appreciate it when someone goes to the effort to formulate a rational, reasonable reply and engage in real dialog. Kudos to you.

Speaking of the windfall of increased membership, the web site has been slow to respond when loading pages. Not sure why, but it’s been going on for a while. Once loaded, content plays fine. But page loads are painfully slow. Just from a user’s point of view.

Yeah, it’s been doing that for quire a while, at least since early summer. I’m not sure of the cause as it loads fine but slow. I suspect a lot of people are looking at this on mobile devices which use a “light” version of a browser to compensate for the lack of digital power inherent to mobiles. Point being they might not be seeing the same slow load times and so no one not using a computer of some sort has noticed it.

I always watch BW on their website with a computer. I still get that very slow download that drives me crazy. But, it is worth the wait.

Me too. I have a fairly sophisticated computer setup and the computer systems are jacked into a Yamaha 5.2.2 media receiver with Bose speakers … So I always hear Bill pounding on his desk 🙂 I use mobile devices only for situations where they are the only, or best choice. So I have no idea how fast this site loads on a mobile.

Despite the slow loading pages I often spend multiple hours a day on this site. I’d get more done if these pages loaded faster but as you point out. It’s worth the wait anyway.

I would assume the server is being overloaded at times, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference of time of day or night. However, I did notice when I post a comment, it loads instantly. Could it be the BW security suite checking data for malware?

I might have assumed that too but I’ve had conversations with Scott via email about their CDN and web packages so I don’t think server overload is the issue.

When you post a comment on a page the page is already loaded and the bulk of it is cached so it’s pretty snappy. To see the difference just hit the refresh button and note the speed the page loads. Then hold down the shift (or on some browsers the CTRL key) and click the refresh again. That dumps the page cache and forces a full re-load of the whole page.

It’s page transitions where I’m loading a new page or changing to a page I have not visited yet today that things are slow. Once the page has loaded and I return to it then it’s fast.

It might be something to do with the interface between the forum software and the page itself. I dunno. I just always assumed that this was just a slow loading site and left it at that.

It might be my script and ad blockers though they’re all disabled on this site. Barbara said below that her laptop is really fast. I’m curious if she’s got any script or ad blocker extensions installed on her browser …

I don’t have any of that. I have some snake cleaner but I’ve never used it for anything but seasonnig snake meat.

As the members increase, the underlying architecture of the site is going to struggle as it’s not a massively scalable platform. The answer is to switch to an alternative underpinning, but that’s essentially a complete rewrite, and possibly needing the services of a full time admin who can understand the code of the new platform. We just need to bear with until they reach a point were they have enough members to afford it.

I think that is what they are working on(from what I heard). Of course it needs to be tested before it goes live and they may be in that stage now.
