That young man laid down his life for people he didn’t even know! He served his country to the last and he is a shining example of selfless service, one of the Army’s core values.
The sacrifice that SPC Bishop Evans made reminds me of Jesus’ words in John 15:11-14
11 “I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. 12 This is My command: Love one another as I have loved you. 13 No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do what I command you.”
Godspeed SPC Evans, you are an example of Christ-like love that the entire nation can be proud of, and I’m sure your parents are very proud.
