The Knockout Punch

For two years, conservatives have had to listen to the constant drumbeat of Russian collusion by every media outlet and by every so-called expert from the Deep State. I don’t have to tell anyone here that, every hour on the hour, for two years, we were bombarded by this narrative.  We were in the corner, getting pounded  by the deep state champ as we tried to stay on our feet.  The referee’s were all paid off to look the other way when the champ landed low blow after low blow.  Despite everything stacked against us, we stayed on our feet and finally the champ began to tire.  Round after round came and went and we began to take the initiative.  We pounded the champ with Tom Fitton  uppercuts and Bongino/Solomon/Carter combinations.  A referee by the name of Mueller, no friend of ours, finally came in and warned the champ, and it begin to look like we had a chance of winning the fight.  The deep state trainers realized the danger and began to load the champ’s gloves with lead shot and douse them with chloroform.  They realized the champ had to finish us now or lose the fight.  If the outcome was not final, even the paid off judges would have a hard time ruling in the champ’s favor.

We are now in the last few rounds of the fight for America and, while we have staggered and bloodied the deep state champ, he’s not on the floor yet.  He’s in the corner, being helped to regain his wits, being sponged off, and having his cuts tended to.  When that final bell rings, we need to come out of our corner swinging.  We need to stagger the champ with a flurry of punches to the head.  And finally, we need to nail the champ on the button.  He needs to fall to the floor of the ring like a sack of wet cement.  There needs to be no question in the judge’s mind, and in the crowd’s mind, that the American people won this fight in a knockout.

It’s the final round and it’s all on the line.

Let me lead off by echoing the praise: excellent writing, beautiful imagery.

One question: Who is crowd whose minds need to be convinced? It is not conservatives: we are the fighter who has survived. It is not the media: they are the champ. If it is uncommitted voters, how can we communicate the win? And if it is the public in general, how can we get them to care?

John, I think this election will hinge on a combination of things.
1. People must realize that Trump is doing everything he can to stop illegal immigration. Wages depend on this.
2. The economy must remain strong. This is a combination of economic policy, trade policy, immigration policy, and dept policy. Everything affects the economy.
3. Foreign policy is important, but less so than the above. If Britain exits from the EU, a trade deal could be a big thing. If things go badly for China, that could be a good thing. Iran is a danger and I think a bunch of Republicans want a war with them. That would be really bad.

4. Health care policy might be big, depending on what Trump proposes. Of course, this depends on taking back the House.

Most of these things impact people personally, so I don’t think a lot of explaining will be necessary. However, I do think that Trump should threaten the tech companies with anti-trust and pound on them until they see the economic light. Trump won’t change their politics, but he might be able to threaten them enough to make them realize they can’t censor conservatives and stay in business.

I know this is kind of scattershot, but this is what I think about every day.

Hank Scorpio is one of my all time favorite characters!
I have a recording of that episode, mainly because it is so brilliant. It’s in the hammock district, on 3rd!
