As long as there’s democracy, there’s people voting themselves other people’s money. As long as there’s voting for other people’s money, there’s a nanny state. As long as there’s a nanny state, there’s taxation. As long as there’s taxation, there’s profit in exploiting the rules. As long as there’s profit in exploiting the rules, there’s drug cartels getting people hooked on hard drugs for profit. As long as there’s drug addiction there’s state dependency. As long as there’s state dependency there’s dependents (mostly leftists and their pawns) seeking to expand the state for perceived gain, even by way of just magnifying the problems. As long as there’s dependents magnifying the state with no way to legally round them up and rehabilitate them, there’s a police state. As long as there’s a police state there’s strict prohibitions and border control. The strict prohibitions and border control are ultimately not enough.
As long as libertarians are just hitting angry reacts on news articles of police shootings of almost entirely black people, (because dead white people don’t sell as many advertisement views), and as long as small-government conservatives are just hitting the angry reacts on news articles of leftist bureaucrats being leftist bureaucrats, and no one is doing much to strike at the root of these problems, there’s going to be no progress in ending the cycle.
Instead of angry reacts, try earning lots of money, having a lot of kids, raising them with peaceful parenting, homeschooling/unschooling, and family values, to help them become independent, ethical, and smart enough to see these problems. If you’re too old for kids, try persuading young people to see this logic. Eventually we will vastly outnumber the dependents, degenerates, and demagogues. Democracy is mob rule, but it’s what we have, so the only ways out are an ethical mob or a societal collapse.
Or as Thomas Jefferson would have explained it in a single sentence:

You can’t get better people in government until you have better ideas in the people. When that happens, most of our current problems with government will go away. The challenge is getting those better ideas in the people.
The current situation is dependent upon the makers keeping on making so the takers can keep on taking. Stop the making, and the takers are done for.
I don’t know, sounds like an R solution…. Aren’t we the Ks?
