In today’s MB2A, Bill repeatedly asked what changed from the time we were kids in the 60’s and 70’s to the chaos and immorality we are witnessing today. My Tea Party friends Bob McGuffie and Anthony Stark have just released an important book that I believe not only answers his (and our) questions in that regard, but offers a way out:
The Seventh Crisis: Why Millennials Must Re-establish Ordered Liberty
(https://www.amazon.com/Seventh-Crisis-Millennials-Re-establish-Ordered/dp/173605421X/ref=zg_bs_5571260011_20)
If one subscribes to the view that history is cyclical and driven forward by the generations who come of age during its pivotal events, then the Millennial generation is being called upon to take the leadership mantle and deliver us from America’s current Crisis. Midway through the first decade of the 21st century America slipped into a national crisis, the Seventh Crisis the Anglo-American world has faced since the time of the discovery of America by Columbus. The nature of the Crisis is political, cultural, economic, and philosophical. Those antagonizing the Crisis have for decades been growing in influence within government, academia, big business, media and entertainment. They think the time has come to realize the fundamental transformation of America into their fatally flawed collectivist vision of an authoritarian state. Is this the destiny of a constitutional republic which grew to be the richest, most powerful and culturally influential country in history? Or will the Millennials grasp Ordered Liberty as their animating spirit and lead the country back to the political, cultural and economic foundations that made it admired throughout the world. This book uncovers the history and roots of the Seventh Crisis and illuminates the spirit of Ordered Liberty, so that Millennials will be well equipped for the challenges that history is about to put before them.

Thanks for the link to the book! I am actually going to buy it and give it a read so the following is going to be said without the benefit of actually having read the book so it may be ignorant and I can easily see myself changing my mind after reading the book. I am also biased in that I am one of the earliest members of Generation Z (the one right after millennials) so I will try to keep that in mind as I articulate what I am about to say.
I honestly have little hope that the millennial generation can bring us out of this looming catastrophe. In my youth I had the privilege of watching people 4-5 years older than me growing up as well as people 4-5 years younger than me through various sports (I was a swim coach for years) and my observation is that for the most part that generation is completely lost. I fear that they will be the weak generation that leads to hard times. I know a lot of the blame for where we are right now an be laid at the feet of the baby boomers but they are more responsible for wasting the blessings of liberty, not actively destroying it in my opinion. I fear that the millennial generation will put the nail in the coffin of this current age of prosperity and that it will be up to the next generation to pick up the mantle of liberty that was thrown down by those that cam before us to safeguard what remains with the hope of leaving something behind that is improved from what we were left with.
Just some of my rambling thoughts based on the premise of this article. hope it isn’t too incoherent or total nonsense. Thanks again for the book recommendation!
