Oh, and I’d like to know what show had the balls (in today’s world) to show a clip where a successful woman was the problem and the man was the victim… I’d like to see that clip myself. I’ve seen someone close to me live through that TWICE (he finally figured it out and is now about to marry an actual feminine woman).
One of the first things his then 8 year old son said about this new woman (as opposed to his mother) was, “I like her. She doesn’t yell all the time.”
Ah, it’s Mena Arkansas … and it’s got something to do with drugs and money laundering having to do with cocaine and the Contras, it seems. Try a google search… I came up with this … of course, it only points to what he’s probably talking about, not how much truth there is in the allegations. Can’t say, I just see it out there.
(Incidentally, the rot goes way back before the Clintons, it was just hitting an inflection point in its acceleration. Goes back at least to Wilson.
About the trans thing … I think you’ve got it right, there is statistically NO route to happiness there. Even if you do find a relationship, it would take an incredibly hyper-adjusted TWO people who are capable of understanding the charade, knowing it’s a charade, and being ok with the fact that it’s a charade. I think the number of super-well adjusted people who 1) exist on the planet let alone 2) exist in these “communities” is so low to begin with and then the chances of two who find each other … needle in a sand dune.
YOU will always know something is off. You are on medication for life, and you’ve got scars to prove it and hair growing where it shouldn’t be that’s causing infections and internal skin infections because you’ve got skin turned inside where it wasn’t designed to be. Your misery is a perpetual cash cow for the medical and pharma industries. You likely escaped to this delusion because you thought your life sucked … and now it’s only gonna suck worse.
And any partner you end up with will always know that something is off. Your only hope of getting any happiness out of it at all is if you both get off on the offness (which I suspect there’s a high occurrence of here), and that still won’t cover for the medical issues.
Pretty slim chances.
When it comes to talk about all things science, I like this lady a lot.
Oh, you’ll disagree with her opinions (which she largely stays away from), sometimes, but I think she does a great job of separating science from politics. Her facts, for the most part, you can’t argue with. She does talk about energy sources a lot, from wind/solar through fossil fuels to nuclear solutions, and even hydrogen.
She’s brilliant, and funny. And can reduce complex things down into terms most people can understand them.
If you’re inclined to turn someone off the moment they say something that challenges your worldview, I’m sure you’ll turn her off sooner rather than later. But … she’s not afraid of saying things that challenge anyone’s worldview – because our sources (mainly the media) are so filled with bullshit, even our side (which tends to have less bullshit, but not zero) have put ideas in our heads that don’t exactly map out they way we think they do.

Found the movie the “not prettier, skinnier, or younger” clip came from:
The Little Death (2014) – Lisa McCune as Maureen – IMDb

It you stay tuned to her, you’ll learn a lot.
