There IS a Movement That Can Save This Republic

There may have been posts about this somewhere on the website that I am unaware of since I haven’t read everything, but The Convention of States movement has a realistic chance to become reality.  Since there are many more red states than blue, it can happen.

From their website: ” Article V of the U.S. Constitution gives states the power to call a Convention of States to propose amendments. It takes 34 states to call the convention and 38 to ratify any amendments that are proposed. Our convention would only allow the states to discuss amendments that, “limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints, and place term limits on federal officials.”

So far, 15 states have voted for the convention and 20 more have it under consideration.  I urge you to check out their website or Facebook page.  If you are in one of the states that might vote for it you can do a lot to help it get passed.

My state of Tennessee has passed the CoS resolution. Unfortunately, it will take 18 more states to pass the resolution before the amending convention can be called. This is a good idea for sure, but it won’t happen nearly quickly enough (if at all) to fend off the incipient civil war we’re facing. See my idea about pushing your state legislatures to nullify unconstitutional federal government activities within their borders. I think that’s about the only thing that will have a chance of retaining our freedoms in the short term.

Well, as Bill says all the time, this may be a VERY long fight and I believe if we could make this miracle happen, it would be a huge step forward. I wish I lived in a state that has it under consideration. Unfortunately, I live in the fourth circle of hell led by California, New York and New Jersey…Illinois.
I love your idea of a 10th Amendment Sanctuary. All it would do is follow the U.S. Constitution as the country should have been doing the last 60 years instead of tearing it down.

I don’t know the composition of the Illinois General Assembly, but depending on where you live in the state, you may have a representative or senator who would be amenable to the idea. If not, consider contacting reps or senators who aren’t yours, and pitch the idea to them. It can’t hurt to do it. And after all, the only guaranteed way to lose is to not try.
