Third Falcon Heavy launch coming June 24th

It is scheduled NET (No Earlier Than) 23:30 EDT. This will be the first night launch of the Falcon Heavy. It is carrying 24 different mission payloads, including Air Force hardware to be delicately deployed into four different orbits.

The most interesting from my perspective is the Deep Space Atomic Clock, which if successful points the way to the ability to use GPS navigation on for example the Moon and Mars. It is purported to be 50 times more precise than the ones currently in the GPS constellation, making it absolutely the most accurate clock in the world.

Video coverage can be found at SpaceX in the usual manner. Be there or be square!

I apologize for not keeping up my end of the stick with my usual flood of posts here (though I’ve been reading occasionally). Summer is a busy time, short as it is, and I have several projects I’m struggling to move along their (optimistic) schedules. I haven’t died or anything. Really.
