When you hear the phrase “follow the science” it’s not an exhortation to do more research and lab experiments anymore. It’s a Progressive’s way of squashing dissent by saying your opinion is not informed by science. Can you hear the dog whistle? Are you a dog?

Guys, … EXCELLENT!!! And, if I do say so, Steve, I found your remarks especially cogent. Not to diminish Scott’s or Bill’s, but your observation of the role of scientists was pretty much spot on.
A certain person once implied “The science is settled” on the “gay gene.” The ramification is that this gene absolves people of any personal, moral responsibility for their actions and any consequent judgment.
Scott, since the appeal to authority is considered fallacious, then appealing to the authority of scripture is just as fallacious. How do you square the fallacious appeal to the scientific “gay gene” with the equally fallacious appeal to the authority of scripture? Isn’t it simply a personal choice of which appeal is more appealing?
Scott said what I have been telling people for years. Anyone who says “the science is settled” doesn’t understand Science.

Where do you find these amazing thumbnails? I have always been impressed with them; they lend a professional feel to your videos.
In this day and age, science, scientists, and experimental results are commonly bought and sold via a mechanism called “grant funding”. Scientists need money to pursue their own whims. If they can get that money by way of supporting some agenda, they will do their absolute best to accomplish that sleight of hand needed to make it look good for their backers. They realize that science is not ever truly settled, so there really is no opprobrium or stigma to being wrong in the short term. Models are so easily manipulated to provide the result sought, and generally so simplified over the real world situations that they are modeling, that it is all well beyond laughable!
I hear it mentioned every so often, but not often enough (sufficient for the day is the evil thereof…) the commonalities between the science behind the civid-scare and the Global Warming hoax. Both use models, both claim to depend on ‘science’, so much so that the ‘science is settled’… Hmmmm…

Follow the science is usually followed by ‘we are listening to the experts’. Problem is there are too many ‘experts’ and their models are only as good as the info they feed them. Another way of putting forth the premise of this episode could be ‘ring the bell and watch the dogs salivate’. As I recall I first heard that in Psych 101 many years ago.
Another lesson I learned many years ago was in the first class in basic training (USAF) ‘Rumors and Propaganda’…Don’t believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.
Another example of the demented left left defining a term and expecting the reality that the term originally referred to conform to the new definition. Then, if anyone objects, they work to punish those to disagree. Hence the endless lockdown. They dictate the “science” and everyone is to believe, quietly lock them selves, and stop breathing until the “science” says it is safe to start breathing again.
Their irrational definition of science enabled them to stop the economy of the world. All followed by endless moving the goal posts so as to continue the lock down. It was no accident. They had a long standing wish that all those people out there doing what they do without their permission will be stopped, punished, and ultimately destroyed. They have almost gotten their wish.
Keep in mind, they do NOT have your best interests at heart. They INTEND to destroy the good exactly because it is good. This even if it destroys every living thing on earth including themselves. More exactly BECAUSE it will end their perthitic lives but only after everyone else dies a very painful death.
Your life is worth living because it is yours and the only one you are ever going to have. So live it and tell the demented left of left to go to hell and pay for their own travel expenses.
I found and listened to this, this morning. She’s no scientist, and doesn’t claim to be, but I’ll take good old common sense, over scientism any day.

Thanks R/A guys. Nailed it. There are two dog whistles I found, “We’re Following the Science” and “We’re Guided by the Science”. The first implies, “We (the smart ones) are following the science, and you (the knuckle dragging sloping foreheads in flyover counties) are the idiots who are going to kill people with your ignorance”.
The second one implies, at least to me, “We (the anointed ones) put all of our faith and hope in Neil Ferguson’s flawed worst case model, so shut up!)

What I still can’t quite figure out is how the dogwhistle spreads so quickly. Twitter? Copycats? Is it spread by a new ‘Journolist’ email?
“Science” has become “Shut up, he explained.”
“Dog Whistle” is leftspeak for “Just because there’s no evidence to support my claims is no reason for me to stop believing them!”
