Traitors

What foreign power?  You know it’s CHINA.  These two traitorous scum should be hung in gibbets in D.C. and allowed to rot away to dust, just so other traitors can see what happens to their ilk.  But there are traitors filling the swamp, so justice will have to wait, but it IS coming.

Yeah, it was on the news that they were selling secrets to China.

I dunno about the hanging people on gibbets though. If by that you’re simply overstating “they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law” then I agree. If you mean actually putting their executed dead bodies on display until their corpses rot and fall apart then no, I don’t agree.

I feel the same way you do about traitors. If you meant the latter above then I do not feel the same way you do about the Rule of Law. Because I support the Rule of Law along with all the other American Principles. If you can get a law passed that includes hanging people on gibbets then we would be in agreement. I don’t think you can do that. I’m pretty sure getting all medieval on people is not going to pass muster with the Constitution.

The reason I make a point of that is that there’s an interesting correlation between that kind of thing and what the Left is trying to do. They believe that if they just didn’t have to have this pesky Rule of Law thing and the U.S. Constitution standing in their way they could create a better society than what we get from adhering to our Founders ideals and goals. They believe they’re justified, just as you appear to believe you’re justified in taking the extreme measure of gibbets.

You’re entitled to your opinion of course and so am I. My opinion is that you want to be careful with that kind of thinking. Because while you may think hanging traitors on gibbets is justified, there are those on the left that think the same thing about you and me and the rest of us on the Conservative side of the aisle. The only difference between you and them is what you each consider justification for using gibbets to set public examples.

While it’s frustrating and outright infuriating to see something like the treasonous acts of these two people selling secrets to China, that’s no excuse for us to abandon our own principles and call for gibbets to be constructed on the National Mall in front of the Washington Monument. Rotting bodies mirrored in the reflecting pool is not an image I want to see in America. Ever. For any reason. Be careful what you wish for, you might get it and still not like what you get.

Ultimately I do not want the U.S. to revert to medieval capital punishment, but the left cares nothing for the Constitution and my comment mirrors that reality; seeing what they have done since 2008 brings freedom-loving Americans to the point of exhaustion and extreme frustration. I served in the Army before all this insane woke garbage was brought about by the radical Barack Obama, and I’ve been friends with heroes who served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam who were brought to the point of being ashamed of the country for allowing the kind of disgrace and shame he wrought. Think about the men who fought and died in those wars, fighting against the ideology Obama has pushed on the country we love – I HATE communism and the evil it has done in this world, and these vile traitors act like it is just a benign worldview. With all that in mind I thought of other traitors who sold out to our enemies and have gotten off with light sentences – it sickens and infuriates me. In the Army I served as an intelligence analyst and before we swore our oaths (separate from the Army oath), we were briefed on the penalties for treason, shown the people who had sold out to our enemies, and how they were punished; strikingly the punishment for treason has weakened through the years – most spies and traitors in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI and WWII, were executed for their treason, but now these people are basically given a slap on the wrist even if their crimes result in people dying (think John Walker, Jr. or Bowe Bergdahl). The progressive, anti-Americans are pushing to collapse our economy, cause a second civil war, make the U.S. a third-world hellhole, and destroy our country. If they succeed we will see horrors in our streets that we never imagined (gibbets would be tame). God willing, we will never have to see the ugliness of war on our soil (again), I do not want it nor do any others I know.

Yeah, I sort of figured you were just seriously pissed off and didn’t actually mean literal gibbets used in literal executions staged in public on Federal property. With bodies left to rot until they fell apart.

Here’s the thing about. If I went into my background, the friends I’ve had, the people I’ve known and lost, none of that would be unfamiliar to someone like you. I wasn’t asking you why you’re enraged about this. I know why you’re enraged about this and I’m every bit as angry about it as you are. The BLM sign in these traitors front yard only amplifies that anger, BTW.

That’s not an excuse to abandon core (in my case also Corps) principles and abandon the Rule of Law. That’s something I was certain you were aware of when I replied to you and now after your response to me, even more certain.

I was merely pointing out that hyperbolic language might not be the way to go about expressing your anger. It can be taken the wrong way and I see no need to launch hyperboles like our enemies do.

I say what I mean and I mean exactly what I say. I’m very careful and mindful about that because there are people here who don’t have our sorts of experience and there are people on the other side that will use that kind of language against us. Whether unintentionally influencing those on our side or incidentally providing ammunition to our foes — Neither is what could be considered wisdom.

My best buddy is a retired Marine Lt. Col. from S2. Now he does more or less the same job in civvies. I know most of the people in his “shop” and would consider them friends too. There are reasons why I get along with and gravitate to that sort of crowd. We understand each other. We are serious experienced people not ignorant civilians who have never been there and done that. No one I know is prone to flights of hyperbole.

You do you, but mean what you say if you’re what you say you are. Or else the only people who will take you seriously are those who don’t know any better.

I’m not slagging on you, you’re my Brother. I’m stating my opinions here for your edification not your degradation.

I also live in a blue, shithole state (IL) so even when we had “good times” under Trump, we never saw any of it. My life now is garbage basically and here there is no hope for anything to get better in this place. I just spent nearly 2 years caring for my mother, who had stage-4 lung cancer, taking her to every appointment and chemo treatments until she lost the battle not long ago, this year has been more of the same so I’m in a low place and my thoughts sometimes come out very angry and vengeful. I’ve lost more friends this year so life has been dismal.
Being held under the thumb of corrupt politicians is a way of life now and if my language is hyperbolic and cynical, there’s good reason for it (we’ve been screwed for so long in IL we could all put “sex worker” on job applications!). I wish things were better but they’re not so I won’t hold back when I vent, because if I don’t I suffer for it.
