About 300 backers of President Trump rally in West Baltimore to clean up a neighborhood in Rep. Elijah Cummings’ “disgusting, rat and rodent-infested mess” of a district, as Trump called it recently. Does this random act of kindness provide a template for civic action by conservatives everywhere?
WBAL-TV’s Kate Amara showed up with a camera to capture the non-political act for her viewers. You can watch her report here:

One of my favorite quotes is from St. Francis of Assisi “Preach the Gospel at all times. When necessary, use words.” The person who organized the cleanup put this idea into action beautifully.
If Cummings was a first term elected official and the problem suddenly sprang up overnight, I might agree with you, Bill. However, that is not the case. Cummings and his cohorts in the Baltimoron Democratic Machine have long presided over the demise of this city which has been occurring over a long time. No, the responsibility lies with the voters. They have the city and the government they deserve
Great episode! I had hoped you would include Sharyl Attkisson in your recall of real journalists. She does invaluable work in reporting in an honest and objective manner. I admire her integrity in a profession sorely lacking these days
The cleanup was a good start. I hope some local movements will pitch in as well. Removing a few hundred dump trucks full of garbage will help. The city should take those empty (other than squatters and meth labs) buildings by eminent domain and raze them.
Show us a picture of that alley one week after the cleanup.
Bill – That story about your dad at the train station reminds me that one’s character is defined by what you do when you think no one is watching. Outstanding!
As Bill likes to say, Democrats would rather rue over ruins than allow somebody else take credit for success
