Trump’s recovery

Now that President Trump is clearly recovering, there is one practical advantage he now has over the Democrats for the election:  rallies, rallies, rallies!

He can shake people’s hands now!  He doesn’t have to wear a mask!  People don’t have to wear masks around him to “protect” him!

Of course, there are a lot of philosophical advantages too, and I’m sure we’ll discuss those at length.  But in the real world, the President is now much freer than he was last week.

The timing of his infection and recovery couldn’t be better. It’s gotten everyone’s attention. It’s made them consider the presidential succession and compare the two tickets. When people see that not only did he beat the virus but he’s “stronger than ever” (rallies, rallies, rallies), they will stop being so afraid. They will respond to his positivity.

I was just listening to the Democrat talking points (via Juan Williams on a clip from The Five) and they are flailing. It’s a judgement up on him–yet he’s going home. They can lie all they want but the fact that the President is well, and that all of these other people who have gotten ill well get well too, will contradict everything they say. We are about to get an object lesson in herd immunity.

Juan Williams is a leftist shill who deserves no attention; however, if you need to hear from stupid, then Juan is a good choice. I continue to be appalled that FOX keeps him on the air.

I hear you on that one.
The problem with trying to achieve an idiot-proof world, is that the world just invents better idiots. I believe it’s a conspiracy.

I think they keep him BECAUSE he is so bad. It makes the job of the others much easier.

Good point.
Alternatively, it may be related to the perverse motto of “fair and balanced news.”

Agreed–but if they wanted to be really fair and balanced they’d get someone who could actually challenge people like Gutfeld at a philosophical level rather than making it like shooting fish in a barrel. With someone who’s bad at it–and yet has some credibility over being cancelled by NPR before “cancel culture” had that name–they get the best of both worlds.
