Haven’t been here for awhile…. thought I’d catch up. This did not disappoint, especially the last few seconds. I needed a good laugh. So glad we have USA Today to do all that pesky thinking for us. Imagine if they had left us all to noodle that one out for ourselves. (Yes, sarcasm.)

Somewhere straddling the boundary between the second and third levels of satire, is presenting something you don’t actually believe in order to play with someone’s preconceived caricature of what you believe.

Why is it necessary to “fact check” obvious satire? Because the Left has become so outlandish that it’s nearly impossible to believe their positions are NOT satire. I.E. getting rid of cows (and thereby milk, the #1 beverage in the U.S. and hamburgers, probably the #1 food in the U.S.), and taking the train to Hawaii instead of flying there. Those ideas are not satire, they are genuine planks in the Democrat platform.

Clearly one side of the political spectrum has lost all touch with reality. This makes it necessary to “fact check” satire because sometimes, at least on one side, satire is reality.

So isn’t it nice of USA Today to tell us what we already knew and thereby remove any doubt among their readership? C’mon Man!!!

Poe’s Law: “Without a clear indicator of the author’s intent, it is impossible to create a parody of extreme views so obviously exaggerated that it cannot be mistaken by some readers for a sincere expression of the views being parodied.”

Yet there was a clear indicator of intent here. So, just stupidity.

Isn’t that how we got the panic over Orson Wells reading H.G. Wells’ “War of the Worlds” over the radio way back when?

I have to wonder how many people under 30 today even know about that …

Well … they think that Steven Spielberg shot a real, live triceratops and posed next to the dead body so … Yeah, you’re probably right.

You put the HTML tag <img> in your comment, like this:

<img src=”https://hips.hearstapps.com/hmg-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/images/dog-puppy-on-garden-royalty-free-image-1586966191.jpg”>

Of course, you put the web address (URL) for your image in place of the one I used. It has to be the URL of the image itself. Note that this isn’t the same as the URL of the web page you found the image on. Usually, you can get the URL of the image by right-clicking (or tap & hold on phones) on the image, then clicking “Open image” or “View image” or whatever looks like that in the menu you get. The image’s URL will then be in your browser’s address bar and you can copy/paste it. That will work at least 99% of the time.

Only change what’s between the quotes. Keep everything else, including the quotes, exactly as you see it here. Put the <img> tag exactly where you want it to be in your text, as if the whole thing is just a word.

I followed Dave Rubin’s example and took a month off from the news, at least as much as possible these days. Did me well, but I did miss the gang here

Could it be that the author of the article was aiming for some kind of meta-satire? Failing miserably by super-proving Poe’s Law, to be sure, but not meaning to be taken seriously?

Wait, it’s a journalist. So, no.

Fact check – Bill states that USA Today gave “actual ink” to the story. This is misleading, as in reality, USA Today only presented organized electrons, NOT actual ink. Therefore, the entire episode is FALSE, which means USA Today never fact checked the Babylon Bee to prove THEM false, which means that the Babylon Bee is TRUE, which means RGB is ALIVE!!!! The Dems must be rejoicing!

Thank you for the coffee mess I just spewed onto my keyboard. This made my day. ๐Ÿ˜€

They seem to be incapable of embarrassment, although I sent a Bee picture to my pretty savvy nephew of NBA players in robes with neck doilies and he bought it until I told him it was the Bee. Of course he laughed at himself for the momentary weakness.

Nothing, no half truth, no lie, no distortion, no misdirection is beyond their meeting their goal to destroy civilization and mankind. They are totally into destruction for the sake of destruction. They will not be “happy” until man is extinct. Yet they do not have the courage of their convictions to go first. They INTEND to inflict so much pain and suffering upon the rest of us simply to satisfy their own pathology. Their joy is our suffering. It is going to take a lot more than just saying NO!

It is getting to be past time to inflict extreme pain and suffering upon them. Then segregate them so that they can do harm only to themselves. Our lives and our civilization depends upon it. If not now, when?

Keep in mind that they do what they do on purpose. It is not a mistake or error to thought, it is their life’s purpose.

Don’t judge by their words, judge by their consequences. Their words are intended to put you to sleep. Their consequences are intended to make sure you never wake up.
