I just finished reading Brooks’ latest book, Love Your Enemies, which I recommend, and also enjoyed The Conservative Heart, which I also recommend.
I don’t agree with Arthur on everything, but I think his concept of civil dialogue is on point. A couple of years ago, I had an opportunity to sit down for an interview with him. Hope you enjoy it.

Great point / counterpoint. Now I will need to find out more about Arthur Brooks so that i can make my own determination. Though I did hear some of Bill’s argument about trying to turn a vote for the other side into a vote for our side being a plus 2 rather than just plus one by not having them vote for the other guy.
