WHEN DOES IT END???

When are we going to get out from under this insane burden of Bidenflation? Can/will the Republicans actually do something to stop this insanity when they take back the majority in Congress and the Senate in November? Or will it be a repeat of Paul Ryans time in Congress, and talk a lot, but do absolutely nothing to help the citizens of this country?

My wife and I are struggling to just get by on a month to month basis right now. We’ve never had a lot of money, but a few years ago, when I was still working, we were middle class homeowners.

Now, I’ve been retired on permanent disability for almost 7 years while my wife has worked for the same company for over 25 years. We lost our house and had to move in with my sister, and then later we lived with our son and his family.  After 2 years, I was able to start collecting disability, which is a little over half of what I made when I was still working the job I’d had for almost 17 years.

Now we’re renting a small duplex about 20 miles from where our home was and where my wife still works. The price of gas is killing us, with my wife’s commute and myself going into town to go to the gym 3 times a week, our gas bill is now $100.00 a week! I just got back from going to the ATM to get enough cash to pay for a week’s worth of fuel. I can’t believe it’s as bad as it is, but it’s our new reality. We used to get by on $60.00 a week, not any more.

The cost of EVERYTHING is fucking insane, groceries, gas, restaurants, everything. We are barely making it through each month, because our income has decreased significantly since I had to retire. Here’s the catalyst that got me to post something on this forum in over a year.

My wife and I are going to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary this month. We met with my 2 sisters for lunch last weekend, it had been a while since we’d seen each other. They were kind enough to give us an early anniversary gift, they gave us a $500.00 gift card and told us to use it to go somewhere, 40 years is a long time.

We thought about it all week, we weren’t sure what to do with it. When I got up this morning, my wife had left me a note to let me know where we were financially. We had to pay the rent and several other bills, and my wife had gotten paid last night, and after going through everything, we’re basically broke until I get my disability in a week and a half.

We have to use the gift card to buy groceries and pay for our trip to Costco tonight, and anything else for the next few days. We can’t even afford not to use it just to get by until we both get paid next. If my sisters hadn’t given it to us, we’d have to use the credit cards to pay for everything. We’re trying to pay them both down, but at this rate, it’ll never happen.

How is it possible for the Democrats in power to have fucked up this country in so short a time? I never thought I’d see $5.00 a gallon gasoline in my lifetime, but thanks Brandon, job well done.

Is anybody else as mad as I am?

My sisters’ generosity won’t be forgotten, but we won’t be spending it on anything other than the things you need to buy on a weekly basis. November can’t get here fast enough.
