Dear Bill,
Regarding your news media malaise and not knowing what to say any more, I concur, it happened to me about two months ago. Despair at the news, watching our culture go down the tubes, and watching it exponentially get worse each day. It was then that I decided to make a change.
Rather than read and watch the news I became a news scanner using this metric; will I learn anything new by spending my time consuming it? What I learned… there is very little to be learned, that is new.
Even your daily productions. Will I learn anything new? Most of the time no. So I move on. However, I continue to scan, just in case new knowledge is available.
Here are some of your previous gems I have carried with me since the day you taught them:
- There are two kinds of people in the world – those who want to be left alone and those who want to tell us how to live our lives. I have used with innumerable times when evaluating people and their motives.
- The Fire Wall – eat the rich. Showing the folly of “taxing the rich”. When you explain that even if you TAKE ALL the money from individuals, you cannot fund the government for even one year.
These are just two examples, but Bill, when you feel despair -teach us – don’t just comment on current events.
By the way even though I am listening less – I will never not support your work!!! Carry on! Looking for the next gem!!
