Both PJmedia and Drudge have made several reports about people disrobing on planes and trains or caught driving naked.
While this weeks story in Drudge of a man stripping naked in a church is drug related some similar stories floating around are probably not.

There is a disorder called tactile defensiveness or tactile Sensory Processing Disorder. A few of the naked person on a plane stories, etc, appear to be cases where a person with the disorder is travelling to or from a specialist and the special medications have failed to work. High altitude messes with some medications and they can stop working. Note: Pain killers do not work at all its touch not real pain. Generally to get from A to B they require Valium and sedative and help from a friend or family member.

In simple terms the neurology confuses touch with pain and makes all touch shocking, excruciatingly itchy or crawling with biting insects. Wool is like nettles, cotton like sand paper, and silk is like scalding water continuously covering you. They are not insane just as an epileptic is not insane. Being a nudist is the rational solution. They can’t afford modesty or just have to give up on it. 

For every case with adults there are ten with kids that the media, thankfully, don’t report. I am talking about it because the boys need to ready if it comes up and because, given the size of the network, one of us probably has a family member, friend, co worker or neighbour that is at their whits end with this problem.

The worst case scenario with this disorder is a child or adult that cannot (refuses to) wear any clothing even when cold and snow. If you google both disorders names you may avoid confusion. There are cases where parents, police or social workers have been hospitalised by children with this disorder. Children have broken arms trying to rip cloths off that have been sown up. Some with this disorder never leave home.

Even doctors often do not know of this disorder. Its not rare just kept secret. The genetics implies thousands of undiagnosed cases in the USA. Hundreds here in Australia where I am. In the 1990’s the person in one state doing the most diagnosis’s of the disorder was a catholic exorcist, he sent the kids to an interstate specialist. In another US city the person campaigning for them is the local truant officer. You can guess why. In many cases the first point of diagnosis in a judge who’s seen a previous case in court. This is why some well respected judges sometimes give strange verdicts on indecent exposure cases.

The fact that there is no standardization in name of the disorder does not help. Tactile defensiveness, Tactile Overresponsivity, tactile Sensory Processing Disorder, Sensory integration dysfunction, baby Godiva syndrome, precocious nudity, the torture of touch. Medical schools may mention it in passing and never point out the severity so doctors are ill prepared. The disorder is sometimes defined as a form of autism but there are big differences to other autism and Asperger disorders. Girls are affected just as much as boys which is rare with autism.

My family encountered a case a few years ago and knowing that I as a disability worker they called me. The family they knew had a 9 year old girl. I can’t say much more except that they were in a very public job where hiding the kid was not an option. The whole town of 11000 saw or knew of her. No doctor or psychologist in the state knew what to call this kids problem with clothing. After some research I found a specialist in Queensland and my parents church paid to move them to Brisbane. They lost their job and are fill time carers.

Before the move the only school that would take the child was Christian catholic school and that was after a vote from all the parents. Only one family voted no and left. The parents could not safely leave the child when shopping so they sometimes had to shop at 11 pm (technically after closing time.) When people reported the child to the police the officers generally said “Its incurable. There is no other option. Just thank God its not your kid.” They’re right.

Forcibly clothing the children with this disorder results in a 60% suicide risk at age 7!!!! Adults fight back or join the nudists. It is a small driver for militant nudism. A bigger driver is witchcraft and one strange form of atheism; both a rejection of godly morals. There are also those who are nudists for the sex but they rarely find it. The average age on most nudist communities is 60+.

My guess is that 5% of the nudist movement are people with this disorder and parents, siblings and children born to adults with the disorder make up another 15-20%. Some are third generation nudist families that may have a generational aversion to clothing because granny had the disorder. This also explains why there are christian conservatives in the nudist movement. They have no choice. Its also why a few nudist communities have small schools or home school. Why even conservative judges and governments back down when trying to shut down nudist communities.

This one is a real moral conundrum. As Bill say’s life is unfair. Rational rules must prevail. If the US left grabs this and runs with it they could drive a narrative that could attack modesty badly. There are a few places where that has already been done but generally in Europe. It has not taken hold worldwide. They keep trying. We also need to be careful not to give the left any ideas. Most on the left never heard of the disorder either. If you’ve seen what some wear to the Oscar parties you would think Hollywood all had it but that’s just moral rebellion as is the other 70 to 80% of nudism. 

The nude climate change protests in Britain are a separate issue. Desperate brainwashed kids attempting to get media to cover the old story of climate change. The same with the protests in Russia. 

Conservatism is about several things. The Rule of law but not the state. Free market solutions (all nudist clubs are free market but is that the best solution?) We strive for equal opportunity not equal out comes, however we also strive by free market tools and innovation to make fair out comes possible. That is why the image above is a seamless pair of socks. Some with the disorder can wear microfiber super-soft super light clothing for a few hours.

Yes. Does it work all the time. No. We are a smart bunch of people can we find a cure?

If you have a family member with problem child but they avoid giving details ask if its clothing related then give them the list of names in para 8 (not counting links) to google and pass them the links. It may be a life saver. Get their doctor on the terms.
