There are some news reports of people relapsing after having been released. Even so, panic is unwarranted as the death rate is so low.
I did read up on some of the academic hypotheses about the origins of the virus, but even if they’re true, there doesn’t seem to be anything to be excessively concerned about.
That said, if it hits the EU badly and thus impacts the velocity of money, it could cause a significant economic slowdown there, especially since I think Germany is already now technically in a recession.
I don’t think there’s reason to panic, concern yes, particularly for at risk groups. Then again, reason is pretty well out to lunch in the modern world.
China still looks like the major economic risk, possibly the middle east if an outbreak & panic disrupted oil production.
