I was joking with some friends about
the phrase “You can’t quarantine stupid!” It would be a funny
slogan for t-shirts and coffee mugs.
It could have been a great message for
the election: “Vote Republican because you can’t quarantine
stupid.”
Or it could have been a derogatory
slogan. Maybe a t-shirt with crossing assault weapons on it saying
“You can’t quarantine stupid, but you can try.”
It’s funny, but the more I think about,
the more frightening it becomes. The left IS trying to quarantine
what they feel is stupid. Big tech companies are suppressing and
censoring information they deem incorrect (or can I say “stupid”?).
They are putting warnings on (“stupid”) information they don’t
agree with.
In fact, it’s downright scary in light
of AOC’s list, Keith Olbermann’s call to expunge the President and
his supporters to be convicted and removed from society, Robert
Reich’s call for a commission of truth and reconciliation, and the
desire by others for a federal department of anti-racism. The
progressives are openly attempting to “quarantine stupid.”
Progressives this election said “vote
like your life depends on it” because of Cheeto Hitler. Donald
Trump hasn’t been anything close to a fascist or dictator, but
they’ve built a huge lie about him and rallied around it. But for
me, the prospect of Democrats taking all the levers of power in the
federal government and saying what they would do to their political
enemies, I did vote like my life depended on it.
To me, the phrase “You can’t
quarantine stupid” implies a desire to try. In polite society we
know we can’t and shouldn’t. I’m afraid we don’t live in a polite
society anymore. That desire by some is not constrained by a love of
liberty and diversity of thought and opinion.
I’m not an artist or designer. If I
were, I think I would design a t-shirt that says “You can’t
quarantine stupid, but progressives are trying.” I bet people on
both sides of the aisle would buy them. We live in dangerous
times…
One reply on “You Can’t Quarantine Stupid!”
I like the saying “Ignorance is curable, but stupid is forever.” I’d wear that T-shirt all the time. You can read into it all you want, but the point is true. Ignorant people still have the ability to look at both sides of a argument and make a decision if they are wrong. Stupid people can’t or won’t change their minds ever!
