I’ll admit it. I saw the first Kimberly Klacik ad when it came out and said , Wow, that’s a candidate who knows messaging. Then the 2nd ad hit, and I thought, How can she not win this thing? She is perfect, the right woman for the time, the right woman for the job. Funny thing is that I have NO idea about her qualifications, but the power of that messaging and imaging made me a believer!
Now, Dan Crenshaw of Texas has jumped into the act, creating a story, a message that his Team can save Texas. Not America, mind you, but Texas. In a way, that’s kind of cool.
My question to fellow members is …is this messaging as strong as Kim’s? It’s focused on how they are qualified in other fields and frankly bad assed, but, does it seem too Hollywood for Texans? Scott , you new Texan, what do you think?

Thanks for all the comments and opinions! I just put this Texas Reloaded on the big screen and turned on the surround sound, loud, and showed it to my wife. She had not heard of Crenshaw. When the ad finished, I asked what she thought of it. “Democrats or Republicans?” she asked. I said Republicans and I got a fist pump and a “hell yes!” out of her.
As Bill likes to remind us, “Pics or it didn’t happen”….in this case, though, I’d say “follow-up or it didn’t happen”. The 2nd Kim Klacik video laid out her vision and I think we all agreed it was the better of the two ads. What can Dan Crenshaw’s messaging team, or even his “A-Team” do to lay out their ideas to Save Texas…and from whom?
I did go to TexasReloaded.com and it’s a nice looking site with limited bios.
I’m just hoping that they don’t make this excellent ad a “one and done”. That’d be a shame and a waste of opportunity and momentum.
Its certainly cool, and a good way to get the names out, but I found it a little weak in presenting their qualifications. The two men at the helo get props for being vets but we’ve got other vets that have severely let us down in the representation department.
Personally I found the little word blurbs in the corner displayed too short and were too hard to read quickly enough based on color. I also did not have the video any larger than what you have posted here (though I saw it on Instapundit this morning) so that might be part of that.
The “parachuting” part I thought was ironically on point, as we often talk about targeting districts and having established candidates parachute in to campaign with a new or troubled candidate but when your rep is a
formerretired SEAL, you can have him do that literally.Good to see human, and humorous political messaging. I’ve seen Dan Crenshaw on a few YT vids and he’s impressive. Taken with the Klacik vids this does look like a new front in the culture war. I’m guessing this one is aimed at shoring up and motivating supporters rather than winning over the middle ground.
How do people think the Californian refugees can be pursuaded not to take California politics with them to Texas? I’d assume some will be well aware of why they left and hopefully will reflect that in their voting. However, humans being what we are, especially ‘progressive’ ones, I don’t doubt many will convince themselves the way California is now is Trump’s fault, or due to the wrong sort of progressivism.
Tim – you beat me to it.
I just came over to post this! Not quite as good as Kim’s but I really like the way we are doing to messaging. Love the old school A-Team feel.
I love this! Reminds me of a good action movie setup. Of course, that’s what they are going for. Way to do the culture wars.
I think it’s genius, personally, but I might not be the best judge.
Let me rephrase that. I LOVE THIS.
As Bill said about Kim, it’s just a little rough around the edges, enough imperfect to feel (yes, I said “feel”) believable.
“Saving Texas” is important: the Democrats have been spending more money than anywhere else these last few years trying to turn Texas blue or even purple that it is a serious concern.
I have ideas for how to get some of the “elders” in on the next round: West, Gohmert, Babin, Ctuz, Paxton, heck, maybe even Abbott (though he’s in the doghouse for me over the pandemic restrictions). And they definitely need to recruit the Republican (whose name and sex I can’t even remember) who is running against Sylvia Garcia.
