Death by Despair.

I tried to find a link to a column in May 9 2020 Cincinnati Enquirer titled “Suicide, addiction death rates expected to climb” but could not. When people say, “You don’t care about the deaths, only the economy.” , here is something to think about. What follows is not word for word. …. Dr Elinore McCance-Katz, assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services and head of Mental Health Adminstration says there is more substance abuse, drug abuse, domestic violence and abuse of children due to the isolation caused by the corona virus and deaths could reach 150,00 citing their own research and February report in The Lancet. The Well Being Trust and the American Academy of Family Physicians did a study on expected deaths based on nine employment scenarios. They said the likely “deaths of despair” was 75,000 lives. Death estimates ranged from about 27,600 deaths of the economy recovers quickly, to about 154,000 deaths. Of course, article mentions the need for more money. It talks about not seeing the end of the tunnel and uncertainty. Wish I could type in the whole thing, but I am working and on break.

Thanks, Harry. You might want to consider some archiving app for saving material that might be later moved or deleted. I haven’t done this yet myself, though I’ve had the same issue. Styxhexenhammer666 talks about these apps a lot. I think one is called Wayback. Good luck.
