I agree with Scott’s thoughts that a little melding of the head and heart would be nice on the right. Isn’t that called “empathy”?
Not to be mixed up with “Sympathy”.
Sympathy is just a general ‘feeling sorrow’ ,whereas empathy involves an understanding of why one feels sorrow’,because you’ve had the same or similar life experience.
And just because one feels empathy for anothers bad experience, loss, etc, doesn’t mean that one agrees with the response of the victim, or the path to overcome the sorrow.
I don’t think so. Empathy is “I feel what you feel” sympathy is “I understand what you feel”. So heart and head would be sympathy, empathy is pre-rational.
Fernandez is a great thinker. That is all.

You are absolutely right. Assasination does not make you great. Of course we remember Lincoln and Kennedy, and yes, they were assasinated, but they were great men before they were assasinated. I ask you, who remembers James Garfield as more than a footnote in history?

Also, as seen with the Parkland kids and the Swede (?) girl pushing the global climate hoax is getting so much attention because she is a young child, and who can call a child a liar?
I think one main reason we don’t connect to or understand the left’s messages is the same reason we don’t connect with con artists when we can see through their flim-flams.
Scott, the left makes emotional arguments, some factual, but most not. Their world is wrapped up in the emotional. They approach all things from this angle. Conservatives, conversely try to lean on facts and data and history for analyzing issues. We do fail to translate our ideas into an emotional context. I don’t see a way to break these cycles of right and left, other than to translate the concepts down to very personal decision making. You can sometimes do this when the topic is of a financial nature, but it’s hard to do universally. Lack of critical thinking skills and a desire to hold power are at the root of progressivism. It is a deception, and in some cases a mental disorder.

Gentlemen, Donatism is a heresy attributed to Christians falsely so called! Just because people fail to live up to the standards they espouse, doesn’t nullify their philosophy. On the contrary, the Christian religion teaches that no one can live up to Christian standards. Donatism is truly a leftist philosophy that advocates the delusion that reality is essentially amoral and that morality is a social construct. The result is that the natural becomes unnatural and the unnatural becomes natural. So, it’s good to see delusionals cannibalize their own with false victimhood!

Yes, Bill. Truth does not come from virtue. The left got it backwards. Virtue is the effect of knowing the truth because God is the progenitor of truth. Pontius Pilate asked, “What is Truth?” And he said this as he stood in front of the Truth! This is how strong God’s delusion is! No one can resist God’s strong delusion if he or she has not been given eyes to see nor ears to hear.
