Touching the Edge of Space
Given everything going on right now, seems like a good time to share something a bit more uplifting. One of the very cool consequences of how small modern cameras have become is that it’s giving regular people the ability to reach out and touch the edge of space all on their own, via the old-school technology of balloons. I spent a good chunk of an afternoon just watching one “we stuck a GoPro on a weather balloon” video after another. They all look pretty much the same after a while, but there’s something compelling about seeing so many people decide on their own that they wanted to see the curvature of the Earth for themselves–rather than just watch other people’s YouTube videos of it. 😛

Apparently a lot of these negative ion generating “health” products, available on Amazon and eBay, contain thorium. Looks like the one’s on Amazon that aren’t just complete fakes are mostly bracelets. Though if you buy through eBay you might be able to get the sheets and face cream and who knows what else.

Just so you know where Codavila is coming from here is a quote relating to Afghanistan that caught my eye.

Defence, DOJ and the Intelligence committees in Congress must step up to make it work.
While Codevilla does not say it, Hundreds in the DOJ have reportedly threatened to resign if Trump prosecutes foes or pardons friends.
Trump and MAGA are saying “Yes Please.”
Its taken a long time to get to the point where the good cops would not be coned into going along with the bad cops in such political threats. The sides and battle lines are now clearly defined.
There is no rush. Tyranny is fast and messy. Justice is slow and careful.

Pigeons in MAGA hats!
A protest group released a flock of pigeons in Las Vegas before the Democrat debate yesterday. They were all wearing tiny MAGA hats, except for one wearing an orange toupee.
(I looked for a better video, but mostly they were all “news” stories that quoted people saying it was dumb or it was harmful to the birds.)
