Sen. Warren Math: 30% Gun Tax + 50% Ammo Tax = 80% Drop in Gun Deaths

Leading Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren proposes a 30% gun tax plus a 50% ammo tax which she says will add up to an 80% drop in gun deaths. Of course, there’s more to it than than, including an end to the filibuster in the Senate. Can Betsy Warren ride her sensible gun math equation to the White House, and if so, why doesn’t she stay in the Senate so she can help pass it?

Joe Biden: “Poor Kids are Just as Talented as White Kids.”

Former Vice President Joe Biden tells Iowa’s Democratic faithful that “poor kids are just as bright and talented as white kids/” Did he accidentally say what he, and his party, really believe? Born to Die: Does Capitalism Contain the Seeds of Its Own Demise?

Is it born to die? If Capitalism in America eventually leads to the workers rising with pitchforks to demand a division of the spoils, are we doing it wrong, or is that just the natural outcome of a system that focuses only on equality of opportunity? The rise of Democratic Socialists (and their less-Democratic brethren) during the 2020 presidential cycle may signal an economic shift that seems to contain the seeds of the demise of a system which has created more food, health, leisure, and happiness than anything the Earth has seen.

Democratic Socialists of America Gather to Trigger and Shut Each Other Up

Is it laughable, or tragic, to listen in on a meeting of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)? You be the judge. The litany of sensitivity rules — from prohibitions on heavy scents to avoidance of gender-specific pronouns — is designed to not trigger anyone as they usher in the new Utopia…if anyone can stand it. Above all, the rules are designed to shut each other up.

NY Times: Helicopter Boom Above Urban Areas Highlights the Privilege of “the 1%”

The helicopter travel boom over urban areas highlights the yawning income inequality between the people trapped in traffic jams below and those who rise above it all because of their power and privilege, according to The New York Times. Should “the 1%” be allowed to go from downtown to the airport in eight minutes while the people crawl across the ground for an hour and a half to accomplish the same objective?

Human-Monkey Hybrid Made in China by U.S. and Catholic University Scientists

Scientists from a Catholic university in Spain and the Salk Institute in the U.S. — working in China to avoid ‘legal issues’ — announce they successfully created a human-monkey hybrid then killed the embryo. They’re doing it, they say, to create an endless supply of transplantable organs for sick humans. When others raise ethical objections, or concerns about potential threats to the human genome, the scientists basically say, “Trust us.”
